Does anyone know which Final Fantasy Games are available for the PC? Now I know that VII is.. I think..

It's because I have a small room, so when I bought my PC I needed to take my TV out of my room to make space for my computer. So I gave my mum my TV so it's used in the front room because it's better than the previous TV, & with my mum being a fussy person, she won't let me hook my PSX up to the TV in the front room. So I'll have to make due with FF games on PC 'till I get a desk in my room for my PC & buy another TV.

Not that you really needed to know that anyway...

Only FFVII and FFVIII are available as actual PC games. However, you can download various emulators to get all of the other games to work on the PC as well.

CDs don't hold gigabytes of information, and there's only three cds for ff7.
The entire game fits on one cd, but the FMVs are spread between the cds.

I was thinking how it'd be if you just ripped the psx version, but I guess it would lack the bit that the PS itself does then:]

my version doesnt have the movies....i could include the movies but they have to be decompressed....which means that if i was just to include the opening movie that the file size would double!

FFVIII is the same way. I have the PC version, which is four game disks, but the entire game/story is on every disk, but it's just the FMVs that are making the game bigger than it should be. *sigh* It has an installer disk, which gives you access to art files from the game when you install it though it isn't much at all... that and it's how I got to play Chocobo world.

Doesn't your PC have a/v jacks? Mine dies.. if not, then you could buy something to put into your comp so that you do.. then you can use the monitor as a TV...

Any of FF1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 or the gameboy incrnations can be played on the computer. It takes a bit of fiddling around but it can be done.

And I've seen someone do it. I don't know what he did, but he was able to read and play my Lunar game right off of the disk in his computer.

FF7 PC can run at full speed on a 300MHz machine; However, it's old and a bit picky, thus it doesn't always detect all the features on the latest graphics cards correctly. In general, you'll probably have better results with an nVidia graphics card and the nVidia patch (available for download from this main site in the ff7 section) but even then, the game will not necessarily be stable on all machines.

It's for older nVidia chips though. Only use it if you specifically have problems with an older nVidia card.
