View Full Version : Star Wars quote

So lately I translated the dialogue lifted from Star Wars in which Celes tells you're short to be in the assault troops if you go save her still disguised as an Imperial soldier.

Does anyone know of other such blatant quotes other than Biggs and Wedge, especially in dialogue? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

I don't know any more than the two you just mentioned from VI but there was one in IX that Necron says before you fight him (or is it after he dies? One of the two) "Fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate, hate leads to suffering", which was said by Yoda in 'The Phantom Menace'.

FF makes many references to star wars, if you looked hard enough you could probbably find a website with all of them on.

Does anyone else think the heavy breathing in the beginning of 'Dancing Mad' is a reference to Darth Vader?

...Probably not...

There was no heavy breathing in Dancing Mad. Give me a little more information!

At exactly 30s into Dancing Mad, and then again at 2 min 17s, there is a distinct sound effect used that sounds very similar to Darth Vader’s famous breathing effect. A very subtle reference if ever there was one, but the notion is not entirely ludicrous.

In 8, nida (balamb garden pilot) and piet (lunar base tech) are named after imperial generals from the empire strikes back.

I know this is probably the wrong board but its a cool thread.

Yep. I'm being Final Fantasy VI specific, however. ^_^

Could you post it, the mp3 version is on the iPod and I don't feel like reviving it from the dead right now, nor do I feel like searching through the folders on the iPod.

A similar quote is used in FF8 if, 'do we have anyone that puny on this base', a reference to selphie in the missile base.

In a way the story of FF2 is kinda like a messed up Star Wars. Just think about you'll understand.
