So, do you talk to yourself?

I find this fills my free time, though people think its weird when you start to respond to yourself, once in a while its a little awkward when you find out some one is listening to this conversation.

However, I have topped even responding to yourself. One night I was talking to myself and there was an awkward silence, I couldn't help but think i should say something but i couldn't think of anything to say. Have any of you ever had such experiences.

I talk to just about everything. Myself, my TV, my chair. Anything! I do talk to myself an awful lot, and argue, and pay myself out. But I believe there is nothing wrong with it. I always talk about something I'm interesting in and my taunts can encourage me to do something I don't want to do but should.

Oh, well, I think everyone does it in there head. I never shut up to myself up there. I just never talk to myself out loud. The closest I come is if I'm reading a text book or something, and can't get myself to comprehend a sentence or something, so I'll read it out loud to myself. Dunno that it counts.

Talking to yourself out loud is kinda weird, but I think when you talk to yourself in your head, but make all of the physical gestures like you're talking to someone out loud, is weirder. I'm really self-coscious about doing that, because I know someone who does it all the time xD

Yes, I'm far more auditory than visual so I talk out loud while working all the time, especially when programming or writing something.

I sometimes talk to myself, but it's usually when I've done something wrong. For example, if I just said something really wrong to someone by mistake, on the phone or possibly online, I might murmur "Goddammit. You've done it again, brain," followed by slamming my fist on the desk or punching the wall. =D But that's only if I make a big mistake.

Otherwise, I don't talk to myself too much.

Yup. I talk to the ghost and demons in my house at night too. I tell them to go away. :kaoplain: Whenever they start talking to me, I yell "Shut up!" but usually my vocal chords are too stressed to make a sound.

Wow, really? Never heard that before, but I must be even smarter than I thought.

Anyway, let's say I'm trying to decide what to do about a situation. I'll voice one possible course of action aloud, then I'll think one, then another aloud, and so on until they're exhausted. I have whole dialogues between my mouth and my head :D

Also, if I'm making a plan, I'll talk to myself about it. Eg: "Ok, just three more Plainstrider Beaks, and then down to Ratchet to sort out the business with Chen's Empty Keg, and then I'll hearth back to Crossroads and turn in the quests, then up to the Dry Hills for the harpies." Very commonplace.

And I tend to talk if I get frustrated or something, though that can get very whiny =P

Oh, yeah, I do that too. I've gone off on inanimate things before when they've annoyed me. For example, if I set something down and it rolls off the table, sometimes I yell at it.

I talk to my self all the time, i talk to inatimate objects, i talk to pretty much anything or anyone, BUT i also listen, i dont like mindless jibba-jabba, it also depends because sometimes i have wild conversations with myself completely by thinking... no acctual speech.


i find it keeps me sane. It helps me identify with issues in the world today, and arguements with yourself can acctually strengthen your debate
