Scrapped Princess, Fullmetal Alchemist, Ghost in the Shell and Trigun are all great. And sure you can call yourself an anime fan without seeing Akira, it's not that great.

Akira is not Rurouni Kenshin. It has a futuristic setting and is hella freaky, what with the uber-motocycles and throbbing UGLY FLESH THINGS. AHH!!! I haven't watched it in ages. I love it though.

And I hope you're not also saying that Samurai X sucks. Because it rocks. It rocks harder than the anime. Tenfold. xD
