Also, if you're going by the "rves" sort of thing, you shouldn't. If "Smurf" was pluralised the same way as other English words, the plural of "Smurf" would be "Smurf", much like the plural for "turf" is "turf" and the plural for "surf" is "surf". I can't think of any English word ending with "urf" that has a plural ending in "urves".
