Will we see A Final Fantasy MMORPG for PS3? Please read and help answer

I know that the PS2 has FFXI but, I STILL don't know if that will playable on the Ps3. So you think we will see a FF MMORPG for the PS3?
Also I know that the 360 is getting FFXI what about the PS3 Owners? Will they See a rerelease of FFXI for PS3? or make the current PS2 Ver. compatiable?

I hope you all can help me out with these questions. Thanks so much also Links with info about FF game info for the PS3 would be greatly Appreciated.

If the PS2 is anything to go by, the PS3 will be backwards compatible with PS2 games, and possibly PSX games (they'd be silly not to though IMO). Don't quote me on that though.

Look at the Money they Make on FFXI I hope it does goto PS3.

The PS3 is supposed to be backwards compatible, so FFXI should work on it, unless there are complications due to the HDD or something. I'd say it's possible that they'll make another Final Fantasy MMORPG, but not too likely. They'll probably release a non-FF MMORPG for it, though.

I play RuneScape (well OK, I go on the forums there more than I actually play the game), and Jagex hasn't said anything about that. I suspect that it's just another crappy-ass rumor.

Mercy: I heard that there's going to be a MORG that randomly selects a handful of players (regardless of whether they know each other), and throws them into a unique storymode the likes of which no one else will ever be able to take part in. They do this without warning so it's not something anyone can hope for.
