How does your body respond to spicy food? BJ and I are sitting here eating the new habinero Dorritos and dying from the hotness. Thing is, my nose runs something terrible when eating spicy food. His doesn't, but he sweats like a beast. It's totally weird.

I love spicy foods.....my nose runs and my eyes water. Sometimes I sweat. The thing is, I love that feeling! I always spice up my foods, if these simptons don't occur, then its not spicy enough. It's as simple as that :D

I used to have a very high tolerance for spice. It randomly dissapeared and now I die.

Being Cajun, I thrive on spicy food. Certain spices do make my nose run a little at times, but it's still good.

Yeah. I used to have trouble with the Wendy's spicey chicken sandwich, but man, now I don't know what I'd do without them.

Body temp rises. Little bit of sweat. But otherwise not too bad.

Ben Stiller eating the spicy, ethnic food in 'along came polly' still cracks me up.

It takes a lot for me, but I find the optimal curry is one that has a nice flavour but is still hot enough that I sweat, my nose runs and my lips burn at the end of it.

Edit: Eyes must water, too.

Err... my eyes water up if it's really extremely spicy (and I mean the kind of spicy that would probably slay anyone else not from around), and that's it really. I sometimes cough, again, if it's really terrible.

I never understood the point in causing yourself such suffering, though. You're not supposed to drown your food in, say, Tabasco... just a few drops, to add some interest to your food. :)

I don't eat spicy food. WHAT'S THE POINT? I mean, spice is something they came up with when meat was rotten after two hours of slaughtering it, and to kill the occassional bacteria that wasn't the result of the meat of the slaughtered being pounded by the merciless might of the microbial kingdom! >:O

Micro-organisms are my friends. Don't kill them.

My nose runs. That's about it.

I have good tolerance of spicy foods. Spicy chicken ramen is my favorite flavor of ramen. :D But the spicy chicken burrito at taco bell? Tastes like what you would expect burnt tabbaco would taste like. The only side effect from spicy-food seems to be my toung going to the fiery depths of doom, but that's perfectly normal. :D

My body reacts like it would with any kind of food, which is lucky because I love spicy food :greenie:

To make it worst, eat spicy foods than have a can of soda.

I use to like spicy foods, but now I stay away from them. Although it is temporary, my face flushes a bit (not too much though) when I eat spicey foods. Plus it makes my skin itchy...so I stay away from it.

Pain. Physical pain. Sweating profusely, like a really bad fever.
