Metal Gear Series vs. Final Fantasy Series

Which game series do you like better? The Metal Gear series or the FF series?


Myself, I can't decide. I like both very much, they both have great storylines and music. It is just impossiblefor me to pick between these games!

I think they are, both are very well known, virtually by any who owns a PS2. And they may be diff, but they can still be compared. Myself, they are my 2 fav game series!

Both series in their own right are legendary imo. I just can't decide between either one so it'll have to be both for me.

You can't compare them, one is an action game that pretty much created it's own genre (tactical espionage action), the other is an RPG.

It's stupid, like trying to compare an apple to an orange.

If the question was something like, I'm stranded on a deserted island but for some reason i have a tv, ps2, and a generator, but the generator doesn't work, unless I harness some sort of device that will use the reflective surfaces of the ps2 discs, and in so doing will destory whichever discs i use, and I have to choose between destroying my FF discs to play MGS or destroying my MGS discs to play FF, I'd destroy my MGS discs because I think there's more replay value with the FF series, and I enjoy the game more overall.

Even though they're different games, i'll use Duncan's method and destroy my mgs disc for almost any ff.

This is a final fantasy forum anyway, so there's a high chance of it coming out on top if you were to compare it to another series.

I really, really enjoy both game series, but in the end I would have to say Final Fantasy.

They are very different type of games, so you could say it depends on ones mood.

Metal Gear because you'd have to work very hard to milk it till it's annoying, while Final Fantasy has had that done... for quite awhile.

I love both series, but I still have my choice, FF is definatley better....

I prefer MGS, mainly because of Snake Eater. Besides, the time it takes you to play all the MG games (including the MSX ones) is less than the time it takes you to get to FFVIII last disk. It depends on you if this is good or bad, but I prefer short games, as long as they have a good story.

So I suppose I am the only one who sees any way to compare these 2 games -.-

They may be different, but that aside, I am judging by fun. Which is more enjoyable to play. Although, that desert island scenerio sure puts pressure on making a choice..wish I'd thought of that.

And yes, I have compared apples to oranges. I like oranges better :p ;)

I have enjoyed both the series' games, but I've got to admit that whilst Metal Gear's gameplay was gripping, in the long run, it's Final Fantasy's lastability that won me over.
