I recently started to get my girlfriend into FF because I love it and I figure if we are going to be together I should try and get her into it too. Well anyway I figured the best choice to get her to watch with me would be FFX because of the voice overs it made the story flow much eaisier when there was a player and a watcher. FFX didn't have my favorite story but I still thought it was the best choice. Well she loved it and now she loves Final Fantasy, but its been about a month or two since we finished the game and now I guess my question is what game do you think we should play next to keep her hooked on the series?

Obviously FF VIII when it come to love and stuff. Or let her play FF X-2 to continue on the FF X storyline.

I played computer games before I started dating, so it was funny how my ex and current boyfriend reacted! I play games with them non stop, but I agree with Christmas. FF VIII is more of a love story and FFX2 is a cute girly game and hopefully she'll like them :D

FFVIII IMO
She'd love FFVII too much to care about you........best stay off that one..

Funny, I was just about to suggest that. Considering a vast majority of people seem to have started on 7, there must be something good about it in this regard.

Give her a variety to play in order from.

Say you give her FFVIII, VI, and VII. See what she wants to play first ^_^

Give her VII, Aeris's tragic death actually made me cry.

If she can still love you after FFII, she'll love you no matter what.

I definitely think you should start her off with the early FF's so when she plays the newer ones(FF9, 10 n 10-2), she won't be dissapointed to say if she played the newer ones first, she'll be like "this is crap" when she plays the older ones..

VIII or X-2 I would say.

haha this is what I was thinking actually. I started out on FF3, I can't stop playing it, I think this is my third time playing it. But yeah, wouldn't hurt to start her out on the early ones too. A lot of the people that started out on the later ones, I've gotten a few comments on how the early ones suck, but they don't, they're highly entertaining, the graphics are just yeah.

But since you've kind of started her FFX, I'd say FFIX, it was probably the funnest for me.

Show her FF7, 8, or 9... she won't like 1-6... trust me...

The only problem is that she may like Tidus or Cloud too much for your taste

Seconded all the way for the win XD~

and to two of the last three posters: Didn't you read the topic? She loved FFX >_>

And, to the creator of topic: You werw wise on starting with an FF from the "new gen". If you showed her an "old gen" one, she may think it is bad because of graphics and because it is old, and probably misjudge the entire series. o.o;

Well... since you showed FFX to her first, I think it won't hurt to show the early ones now. I still think you should show FFVIII (because of love story), FFIX (because it is a masterpiece).

And DO NOT SHOW HER FFVII. Chances are:

1- She will love it so much that she will dump you to become an obese emo girl addicted in CloudxSephy yaoi.
2- She will hate it so much that she will dump you to never ever touch FF again.

IMO the second one is the most probable *SHOT* Of course, there is the VERY UNLIKELY chance that she will like it like anyone else. XD~

EDIT: I SAW IT! FLARENUKE EDITED HIS POSTED AFTER MINE! *SHOT*
No offenses, of course XD~

My boyfriend started me off on x but i didnt dump him after i played vii. i did become a little obsessed with cloud though, although I have spent many hours trying to work out the appeal of sephiroth....

Why not tell her what Final Fantasies there are, what they're about, and what you know about them? Let her decide for herself.

P.S. Final Fantasy Tactics. If she can get into FFT, you know you've picked a winner.

thanks for the help everyone I think my choice will be 8 next, because its still appealing enough with the graphics, it has a decent story although a little farfetched but hey what FF story isnt right? It has been fun being able to talk to her about FF and be able to spot things and have her know what talking about like "oh hey that girl looks like Lulu!" or something stupid like that and was hilarious to hear her say things like "Man Tidus is anoying as hell." or "why don't they ever say his name?" but anyway I suggest if any of you has a boyfriend/girlfriend that you are hiding your FF addiciton from you should share it with them, I thought she would make fun of me for being so into a video game but she shares this interest with me now and its great!!

FF8 because of the amazing love story. FFX-2 would be considered perverted though. FF9 is cool but for some reason id do FF7 after 8.
