So during my tidying spree (YES! I actually am tidying B) ) I found my 100,000DM note from the 1930s German Depression. My German family had saved it and has been passed down (well I actually found it and took it from mother but meh :P)
Its pretty rare and should be worth something ^^
anyways to make this a topic
Do you own anything thats been passed down to you? what is it? and what does it mean to you :)
oh and do you know th history behind it

I know that the reason my family then were able to keep it because they were well off farmers that profitted (one of the few familys that did) from the depression.

annnnnd go!

I have things that have worth because of their historical value. Such as clothes that were sewn by my great-grandmother at the turn of the last century who first had to make and dye her own fabric from flax that she had to grow herself as well. They are of museum quality.

I have a necklace that was my great-great grandmothers. It's a small 10K gold chain with a slide heart pendant. I wore it at my wedding.
I also have a ring that was my great-great grandfathers (from another side). He wore it when came to the U.S. My Dad has a revolver gun that was the first thing the same grandfather bought when he got to New York.
My third cousin actually has a key to the aforementioned grandfather's (and his wife's) mausoleum. It's been promised to me and my son....

Family Fortunes doesn't have a wheel, boris.

I don't have anything, yet, because there are older generations in my family that aren't dead. :)

Don't forget Life!!

Anyway, as for family heirlooms... Hmm. None that I know of. The only things that get passed down in my family are names.

I have a few of my aunt's things, which are important to me. The pachinko machine broke though and we haven't been able to find anyone that can fix it.

I also have a clock that my Nana gave me that she said belonged to her grandmother. My Nana's pretty loopy though so I wouldn't be surprised if she bought it at an estate sale for $10 and just forgot.

Just some jewelry, and I think that's it.

Oh, wait! I can choose between inheriting my dad's baseball card, coin, or stamp collection when I get older. Very exciting, yes.
