This info from the latest issue of Famitsu (out this Friday in Japan).
Lots of people wanted a pirate / gambler-type job and Square has responded, it seems.
New job: Corsair
Looks like a pirate. Pics of Elvaan and Mithra wearing AF.
Hat is black, clothes are brown.
Weapon is gun with hexagonal barrel.
Support allies with bullets. It's a party support job, not attacker anyway.
Job ability: Gamble Technique.
New Area:
Aht Uhrgan Empire: looks like San d'Oria
It's the new Jeuno... includes AH, rental house, guards. They want to add chocobos too.
There's talk of monster invasions for this area too.
Divided into three areas: king's area, surrounding area and people's area
New monsters:
Kutourb: male mummy
Marlid: mammoth
Chigo: small parasite
(spellings of the monsters may be weird, I'm taking the names from katakana)

Not exactly sure whether I believe this or not(I haven't been around long enough to know whose trustworthy and who isn't), but if it is, I'd have to say they would rename it to Pirate when it's translated to english.

It sounds so risky to take into combat. I mean, sometimes in a party, I could see everyone criticizing the Corsair because of his luck.

Haha yeah that's very true. It's nice, but I dunno how good it'll be in battle, Maybe like a redmage but without the magic?

The official website hasnt been updated for a while- wouldnt be suprised if SE did it in the near future. As for Corsair, it does make sense- anyone who read the fans lists of demands at any of the events that have taken place will know that a job such as pirate was way up on the list of demands. Anyway, its only the second of the four rumoured jobs that are to be added. So long as they dont add necromancer I'll be happy.

How can anyone still not think that this is true? Screencaps, an official interview, and the source is a highly respected member of the FFXI community. It's legit.

There's still a chance for necromancer since there's probably at least one more job being released with this expansion. I've given up on dancer. :(

All I see in Necromancer is a SMN/BST that uses undead. >_>;
I could be wrong, of course.

I'm actually pretty surprised about this coice for job. FF doesn't really have many traditional "pirate" characters. Leyla being the only exception I can really thing of.

I'd really like to know a bit more about how this gamble technique works. If it is as random as it sounds, I'll have to agree that an unpredictability in battle may make it dysfunctional in parties. I can imagine other people blaming bad luck on the player. I trust that SE will have some way to make them reliable.

More information has become available relating to the newly-announced Final Fantasy XI: Treasures of Aht Urhgan job, Corsair. As a support class, Corsairs won’t be doing terribly high damage. Instead they will rely on specific bullets that can be loaded into their hexaguns. These bullets will inflict certain status ailments, to aid friends or cripple foes.
The Corsairs will also have an ability called Gamble. This ability is based off of the Slots ability that has been featured in previous Final Fantasy titles. Corsair users can then expect to have some timed moves at their disposal, some of which may backfire if used incorrectly. You'll be able to play a Corsair for yourself when Final Fantasy XI: Treasures of Aht Urhgan becomes available in North America April 18.

I just can't wait to have a blue/red mage :D
Ouch!

I'm really wondering if blue mage is going to become a sought-after sub for RDM. If it is... more leveling subs for me. As if BLM, WHM, and NIN weren't enough already.
