For earlier in the game:
Shiva - quick, has blizara to cure herself (unlike bahamut for e.g)
and is certainly the best looking aeon.
However for power it has to be anima, best overdrive, and you can have fun maxing his stats and abilities (unlike yojimbo and magus)

Anima-Best looking, and she is the only one with a known backstory, and a decent backstory imo
Bahamut-He rocks, is the first to have BDL, and the kid Fayth is a great character

Ixion- Again quite dull
Yojimbo- I really don't want to be paying him gil...

My overall favorite has to be Bahamut, common he is a fricken dragon and dragons rule the world.:p I also like using Valefor alot because of two reasons 1) only aeon with 2 overdrives 2) only about half the ground fiends can actually hit her so good for experience early in the game.

Ixion's my second favorite................thing is..I bowed to always respect Ifrit. He has always been the one witht he meaniest and toughest attitude. Ixion's pretty cool too. I do hope that they have a better Thunder-ish Summon in XII............but my hopes are better for Final Fantasy XIII:moomba: :moomba: :moomba: .

The only ones that I didn't like were valefor and Ifrit; thought they were pretty boring. Ifrit moreso than Ixion, just cause I've grown bored of him throughout all of the games. I'm tired of Ifrit!

But Shiva's design and all was cool, and so was Anima's. But Anima's attack is way better. :D

Not as strong perhaps, but certainly a lot more predictable.

For me it's the Magus Sisters and Anima for sheer strength. The Magus Sisters get the nostalgia nod from me though, and are definitely my favorites in the game for it. Bahamut is also the coolest looking.

Well, best Aeon is dependent on your opinion, but my favorites are the Magus Sisters, Anima, and Yojimbo.

Magus Sisters
I enjoy using these ladies as it's like having three Aeons at once obviously. All three have unique special attacks that does an amazing amount of damage too of course. Camisade, Razzia, and Passado just plain own, and are devastating no matter how powerful your sisters are.

Yojimbo
I like him for a variety of reasons. His entrance, whether shortened or extended, is just awesome with that music as he steps in with his twirl of the cape. Second, his Evasion make him invincible against Physical attacks, and that's always a nice plus. Third, he can do a great amount of damage regardless of the gil you pay him. I relly like the animations for them too, with Kozuka being my favorite.

Anima
My favorite Aeon of all Aeons, I enjoy using him simply because of his destructive power. His attacks are incredible, and Pain is always a fun move to use.

I chose Magus Sisters, and Anima. Sure, overall Ifrit is my favourite FF summon ever, but he didn't look so demonic in X. Looked better in VIII. Ixion was awesome too, best thunder summon i've seen for a long while.

My yojimbo does the most damage aside from mindy's passado... and he can 1 hit kill so I like him... yojimbo for me does 99,999 to everything i can find and has 255 def so hes nice enuff... anima is kinda geh but i still gave him haste regen curaga and ultima... i dont really like aeons... valefor is cool when you first get him but after that i never really use aeons

i liked the concept of the magus sisters, hated the fact htat you could not control them 100% just not reliable enough in battle!!! love anima, yojimbo and bahamut (maily cos he's an old fave) couldnt really see the point in valofor.

Bahamut was good actually, but with all so many decoration, he became ugly.
Anima is superb. But Anima's face and his connection with Seymour annoys me. (I hate Guado, cheer Ronso)
Yojimbo wasn't really my favourite. Odin is way cooler than him. I only want Odin to learn Zanmato.
Magus Sisters was really funny, I like three of them, it's like three character fight, but the command are suck.
Ifrit, I don't like him many ways, want me to explain?
Valefor, Yeah, I like the name but nothing really special than his name and two overdrives.

WHAT!? Ixion is way cooler than that old man, Ramuh. That horse can give great pain to ass. Judgement Bolt doesn't sound do strong, Thor's Hammer make sense, it is powerful.

How about Yojimbo? Wasn't Odin supposed to be the aeons. We really can't do anything, that is SquareSoft right. Besides, I like new summon to be appearing in every final fantasies.

Omnislasher Draco, the magus sisters member, Cindy, is by far strongest to be in the magus team. She have Holy, Full-Life, Auto-Life, Mighty Guard and Camisade, her special attack. She is the white mage of the team, and have great damage to deal other than Mindy and Sandy. Mindy might be powerful with her doublecast Ultima though......

Is it me, or is this the scariest looking thing(summon) ever? 1st time Seymour summoned it, I was like WTF? it frightened me to death, hell I've played Silent Hill 1 through 4 and I get scared here and there......but this Anima is like the darkest/grimmest thing I've seen in a FF.

The reason that Anima is so scary is she was influenced by the likes of H.R. Geiger and Hellraiser (IMO). Pretty dark stuff, but very very cool. :D

Her Fayth is so sad and tortured; she reminded me of Ariel, the spectral advisor in the Legacy of Kain games.

Anima also has one of the most extensive background story of any Aeon. Even Bahamut's Fayth, who gets more screen time, remains fairly enigmatic.

Try Lady Y., Mortiphasms, underwater enemies, BFA and Yu Yevon. Of course, all bosses fought prior to the acquisition of Yojimbo cannot be Zanmato'd.

You are right on the last one though.The story makes it impossible to use it.

Anima is definetly the most cool-looking and the scariest thing I've ever saw in a game (worst than Silent Hill 3 bodies and places), when I saw Anima in battle to me with Seymour, I immediately thought: "I'm dead". But in battle, I prefered the Magus Sisters.

Ok, almost everyone's saying it, but I like Anima most, when it comes to giving abilities to Aeons, shes' the first choice, then Bahamut. If neither of them, then I tend to wait. I'm yet to use Yojimbo in my new latest file, mainly due to my feelings towards my money. and Magnes Sisters, against Anything Eater they were ment to be my saviour and take him down, but they decided that instead of Delta attack, they'd rather be taking a break and then taking megaton punches to the face.
