I use them often. They take a while to get used to, but once you do, you'll like them. It takes strategical skill to know how to use them effectively in their normal job classes. For example, I like to cast where there are not many effect panels, such as the edge of a map. Considering that they don't have great offense, have them subdue the weak enemies or the ones in a critical condition. As long as their magical attacks hit at least once, I'll be happy.

I barely use them. I just have them just for the sake of having them

I've always leveled them up, but most of time I've chosen other units in their place for battles.

At least Rafa has a low Brave and high Faith, so she makes a perfect treasure hunter with Move-Find.

I never choose Malak in place of other units. Sure you can raise his Faith, but both Truth and Untruth skills are too random for me.

Malak's magic actually does more damage with lower faith points. A weird thing I've found out is if you cast Faith on a unit, his magic will do the greatest damage, whereas if you cast Innocent on a unit, it won't do any damage at all. It's another glitch in the game. There are so many of them it's not even funny.

It's not a glitch. That's how the game is designed. Faith affects magic power and innocence nullifies the damage.

Actually the game says that truth and untruth skills are supposed to have nothing to do with faith that is why it's so strange.

Pretty sure they are different in that way. Rafas "Truth" skill is treated like normal magic. Higher her faith, more dmg; Higher her targets Faith, also more damage. However Malaks Untruth is the opposite, and in fact if you click on his portrait, he says something like "Untruth hurts those with low Faith. Believe, or you'll pay"- something to that effect. Untruth hits harder on lower faith targets I believe

However, I think what someone was referring to is a bug in that when you cast Faith on a target, Untruth hits them harder than it should (and reversely, casting Innocent makes Untruth do 0 dmg unlike the description says it should do)? I dunno, I haven't used Malak to know if thats true

To clarify the matter, Truth and Un-Truth adhere to different parameters in determining damage. Truth abilities ignore Faith entirely; they are dependent solely on Rafa's MA stat. Un-Truth, however, is dependent on Faith as well as Malak's MA. As previously suggested, Un-Truth abilities are more effective when Malak and/or the target has low Faith. However, should Malak or his target(s) be under Faith or Innocent status, the damage dealt by the ability will be zero.
