When I see polls comparing FF7 to FF8, and see that 7 has more votes than 8 even in the graphics category, I know that it is simply out of bitter devotion and denial that people like you cannot accept the idea that something so beautiful and supreme as Final Fantasy 7 could ever be exceeded by something even better, something bordering divine inspiration, so to speak. But as far as I am concerned, that's what Final Fantasy 8 did, and the sooner you stop hating the sooner you'll realize why so many people love it, and why so many people love to hate it.

normally you can tell someones an FF noob if they dont appreciate FF8. you just dont pay enough attention. this is my second favourite.it has a brilliant love story and the character personalitys are better than in any other FF ive seen. the storyline actually gets very interesting around mid disk 2 and youve obviously just missed all of the out somehow. your just one of those people who doesnt give games a chance and doesnt pay attention.

I never stated my response as fact. I deliberately stated "as far as I am concerned," in my previous post. It is fact to me, but unlike Cloud_Vivi, who states his post as "this is the truth," I never said "this is fact" or "this is the truth." Show me where I stated this and I will admit my previous post was unfounded. Most people know that whenever someone says something, it is their opinion, and it is not necessary for them to say "this is my opinion."

On the other hand, the little troll Cloud_Vivi states "this is the truth." And since most people I've encountered who vehemently hate Final Fantasy VIII in this manner are connoisseurs of Final Fantasy VII, I assumed that Cloud_Vivi was one of those individuals. As we can all see, the little troll has disappeared from the forums, as a troll often does after planting their "stink jem" post. So even though your defense of his post is understandable, IMO (that's IN MY OPINION) it is flawed.

Yeah lots of other people hate FFVIII, you're definitely not alone. It's kind of a love or hate game- so a lot of people will hate it. In the threads that occur a lot in General FF where people order from there favorite to least favorite FFs, it comes in last a lot (and first too:love:).

I wasn't saying it was bad to hate it, I was saying that when you say "its rubbish" that sounds a ton more arrogant than "I think it's rubbish" or even better "this game has serious problems (that way people might not get offended) such as..."

So why do you dislike it? Did you dislike that battle system, the story, the characters or what?

(and btw I've always been a weak essay writer- I just try to cover everything in my posts which is why it might feel that way)

Seems to me that you're backpedaling.

If you read the initial post by Cloud_Vivi, you'll see that it is nothing BUT an attack on Final Fantasy 8, purposefully phrased to start conflict and trouble. It is the classic sign of a "troll," and the addition of the finishing touch "this is the truth" shows that this individual has no interest in discussion or exchange, but is simply here to talk trash.

Writing is tricky, and any person familiar with writing knows that facts can be manipulated and modified. I feel strongly about Final Fantasy 8, and my OPINION on my previous posts shows it. It was necessary to write my conclusions in a more forceful manner than usual due to Cloud_Vivi's calculated attack on this forum.

Once again, I never stated my thoughts as fact or truth, unlike the little troll Cloud_Vivi. This individuals antagonistic "blitz" post, combined with the misleading "Hi Everyone" title to the post, all point to definite characteristics of a "TROLL." I am merely stating the obvious, and it is still my opinion, one with which most on this forum would agree. Like I said before, my previous post contained "as far as I am concerned," and if you cannot see what this little troll Cloud_Vivi is doing, then you have little experience with forum messaging and shouldn't be criticizing others, especially since your criticisms are baseless and make no sense, at least IMO.
