Then you get to choose over Irvine and your gay lover. Oh and that dog could be in there, too. That dog was pretty kick ass.

Cid, not for the storyline value but the annoying way he moved his head when briefing for the SeeD qualifying mission.

And I thought Quistis was excellent though they could have spent a lot more time on her. She had a lot of emotion which she sometimes tried to hide because she wanted to act the part she believed she should be, and sometimes showed to Squall in an interesting round about way.

this is another reason i dislike quistis. the only reason people like her is for reasons above posted by "lulus moogle." and they are unimportant. its her personality and attitude which matters and compared to the other characters personalitys hers sort of sucks and is annoying.

I think that all the characters were important in some way and without them that FF8 wouldn't be FF8. If some of them were replaced, however..then it still wouldn't be as fun.

I enjoyed purposely killing Selphie because I was annoyed by her annoying-happy-happy-fwee-fwee-ness.

With her being replaced, who would I take it out on?

I wouldn't take out any of the characters, no matter how much I want some of them to just disappear sometimes. (*Cough, cough*...Lets get rid of Quistis and Selphie...And Biggs and Wedge.)

He wasnt necessarily annoyed with Rinoa, and the love story between Star Wars ep. I, II, & III are slightly similar to this situation. In the beginning one wasn't really in love with the other, but as they bonded and spent time together and went through many things with eachother they began to love eachother. Like Padme comes out of no where and said shes been falling in love with Anakin, but Anakin loved her the moment he set eyes on her..hence he said "are you an angel?" and all that cute stuff. *Star Wars & Final Fantasy fan, here..*

The Winhill/Julia arc shouldn't have been in the game. I <3 Laguna quite a bit, and it was fun to see the events of the game in a totally different way after playing through all of Laguna's scenarios, but it was so POORLY done. To understand what any of Laguna's scenarios meant for the main plotline, you basically had to prophecise and guess. In the end, Laguna's "big appearnce" in Esthar was more of a cameo that a culmination of his scenario. I wish they'd put in extra, optional Laguna bits, as a side quest. Squall would go to Ellone and say, "Tell me more about blah blah blah" and she'd take him to various events as Laguna. Then maybe the Laguna/Raine/Julia/Squall/Rinoa/Everyoneinthegame connection would make sense WHILE PLAYING THE GAME. If for some godforsaken reason this game is ever remade, this is what I would like to see the most. Either that or just take the whole thing out, and eliminate Laguna as anything more than Esthar's president, and don't mention Julia at all.

Yep. And the ONLY reason I knew this by playing the game was by poking around in some sort of in-game encyclopedia on Julia Heartily. The last name was a big give-away, plus something like, "She married a Galbladian general, had a baby daughter, then died in a car crash." I've never seen any diolauge reference to the relation. Annoying.

OMG NO WAY!!! :hot: :nonono: Laguna is one of THE BEST MALE CHARACTERS EVER!!! :kaohappy2 Laguna, Kiros, and Ward brought SOOO MANY laughs to FFVIII!!! :kaolaugh: (but mostly Laguna) :D I also thought that the whole going back to the past thing was an AWESOME addition in the game!!! :grinpink: Ellone was good too. She was like a big sister to Squall, and was so cute with Laguna!!! :grinpink: I really looked foward to the dream sequences, because it was just sooo cool and it made the overall story of the game better and more interesting. :cool:
