who calls the police "D Bil?" That's stupid.

Although quite clever. *applaudes rebels*

How the hell can anyone read that crap?

Dang. I read the title, thinking the police were writing messages in actual l337. Now that would rox my sox.

But it's still an ingenious way to get through to kids. Break it down on their level, so to speak.

Still, I'm gonna have to agree with Mittopotahis; Who the heck calls the police 'D Bil?'

'The Bill' is a very long running police drama.
A yob is a teenage boy/young man who causes trouble such as grafitti, getting drunk in public and being a general nuisance. Chav has a similar meaning.

If I were interested, I'd have done a little research. I've found that I'm happier the less I know about British youth culture.

I had NO idea what that message said until I read the translation in normal English. I don't really agree with the sign, because this is just slowly letting horrible raped English be acceptable in society. Though that is a clever idea. :)

That is such a retarded idea. :spin:

If it gets the yobs away it's fine, screw formal language, half the words we use are stolen from other languages.

Is it just me, or did anyone else think that at first, Yobs were a term for people from certain Eastern Europe that can't pronounce "j's", like Johnny would "Yonny"? xD

I saw this in the Daily Mail, and, keeping up the tradition of being the most optimistic paper around, they said it was a crap idea

Which it is, by the way

Did you see the Daily Mail yesterday? They had this absolutely huge bunny on page 3. I was thinking of making a thread about the bunny but then I didn't. What a wacky world I live in!

As for this thing...lol bristol. No offence Craig.

I wanted to see some puppies on page 3

And this ties into the topic quite nicely when we think about affects on puppies from yob culture. Maybe this woman will see some sense (http://www.manchesteronline.co.uk/news/s/51/51238_25year_ban_for_puppy_killer.html)

I do believe that we all feel this way, even the British youths

Chavs will be chavs. Every day, they're just sinking lower. Hell, they can't even spell the real words. Just let 'em rot.

The tone of this article is so charmingly bewildered. "You mean these youths actually communicate using slang words? My, how extraordinary! I say, Gideon! Come and take a look at this article. I found it on that internet Millicent just had installated!"

Daily Mail culture is so much funnier than Chav culture. :p

But what matters is that all of the teenagers can read them perfectly.

I think they're reducing practically every teenager to chav rank. =x

I'm just suprised that the kids who read those signs care that their parents will know what they're doing.

I'm surpised I could understand those signs. Except when I red Yob I kept thinking of The Wetback English Skit on Mind of Mencia. It confused me.

That is NOT 1337. At least not the PSO 1337 I am used to. On PSO, it goes: "u kno, the plice put up sgns in sum weird 1337." This weird new 1337 goes "u kno, th plce pt up sns in sm weerd 137."

PSO 1337 is readable, so it pwnzors police 1337. n_n
