aeon damage limits

i thought that the legendary weapons were supposed to break the dmg limit of the aeons. I was told that Wakkas breaks the dmg limit 4 ifrit and aurons breaks the limit 4 yojinbo, but i have both of them and they still do 9999 dmg! can sum1 tell me how 2 break the dmg limits of the aeons?

Then power the weapons up with the CREST and the SIGIL.
Sun for Tidus, Moon for Yuna, Jupiter for Wakka etc.

Sun crest - Where you fought Yunalesca.
Sun Sigil - Get time of 00:00 in the Calm Lands chocobo race.
Moon crest - Besaid, near boat, swim.
Jupiter crest - Locker in Luca.
Jupiter sigil - Blitz prize.
There another guide for one , its an important thread. That all I remember, im looking for them right now too.

You only need to upgrade the CW with the Crest to get BDL for your Aeons.

the swiss version in much harder in many ways. okay maybe only a few but ways like: no al bhed clues, ultima weapon with 999,999 health etc.

Wakka's Sigil:
You must win this as a prize in a Blitzball League, but it's only available if you've won his other three overdrives.
Wakka's Crest:
Found in a locker in the Auroch's locker room.
Lulu's Sigil:
Gain this by dodging lightning in the Thunder Plains 200 times in a row without leaving the area. Found in a chest outside Rin's after dodging 200 times.
Lulu's Crest:
Found in a chest at the Farplane.
Auron's Sigil:
Capture a total of 10 races in 10 different areas then speak to the old man at the Monster Arena.
Auron's Crest:
Found in a chest, at the bottom of the Highroad-North
Tidus's Sigil:
Beat the Chocobo Lady's time with 00:00 or better
Tidus's Crest:
Found in a chest at The Beyond after fighting Yunalesca. You go up the stairs then it will appear. (Where you fought Yunalesca)
Rikku's Sigil:
Complete the Cactuar mini-game then the sandstorm north of the Cactuar stone will go away. Down there is a chest with the sigil.
Rikku's Crest:
In a chest found in a sand whirlpool in Sanubia Desert: West
Yuna's Sigil:
Defeat all the Aeons at Reniem Temple
Yuna's Crest:
Capture all the monsters at the Calm Lands at least once then speak to the old man at the Monster Arena.
Kimahri's Sigil:
Catch all the butterflies in both games in Macalania Forest without touching any red ones.
Kimahri's Crest:
Found in a chest by a column after the Seymoir fight at Mt. Gagazet.

When I did it I only needed the crest and the weapon but they had to be modded together using the celestial weapon. This is for the European version so it should be right.

Penance will appear above the Calm Lands in a brief scene, once you have defeated all the Dark Aeons and hangs around waiting to crush anyone who dares challenge him. Presumably his name is a play on words: he is Tidus & Co.'s "penance" for daring to reject Yevon. In order to fight Penance you must select him from the list of destinations on the airship, and your party will fight him whilst standing on the deck. He consists of a main body and two arms; all of which have their own attack patterns. His stats are as follows:

HP: 12,000,000 (12 million). Overkill: 99,999.
Strength: 255
Defence: 240
Magic: 255
Magic Def.: 200
Agility: 255
Luck: 10
Evasion: 0
Accuracy: 255

Well as far as I'm concerned; the point of beating him is because he's there to be beaten. I've beaten every adversary that Final Fantasy has ever faced me with, I've never come up against anything that could best me. And when I came across this bruiser, there was no way I was going to stand defeated. Defeat Penance and you can truly call yourself the Final Fantasy King/Queen. There's no doubt that Penance is the toughest superboss ever, and that's not just because he can do more damage either. Just because FFVIII's Omega Weapon couldn't do more than 9,999 damage didn't make him a pushover. Judging by the 18 months I've spent trying to beat Penance, he is proportionally the toughest superboss; even if you scaled him down he'd still be the toughest. What I'm saying is that Penance is there for those of you who consider yourself Final Fantasy champions, for those of you that can't leave a superboss untouched. He is the ultimate challenge.

Yeah,you have to have the crest AND the sigil to get the break damage limit for the aeons. All of mine do over 9,999 except ifrit(I don't have wakkas legend weapon,or the sigil) and the other aeon that tidus needs the sigil for

You do not need to power up the weapons with both. Just have to activate them with the crest. Note this is how the NA version does it, I am unsure if you need both for International/PAL versions

Yeah correct you only have to put one of them on the weapon to activate the Limit Break:)
