Are you still not in a party yet? Or would you rather be in a better one than your current one? Well, either way, retro gamers unite: the ultimate party is here, and you can join! All I basically ask of you is that you enjoy retro games of some kind, whether it's really old arcade games, or even games for the Nintendo 64 (yes, it counts as retro).

Currently, it seems a bit biased towards Nintendo games, but everyone will be able to have their own retro sig/avatar, and I'll even create them for you if you can't (if you're a member)! So...

- Party Name: Retro Party
- Party Official Slogan: "Because retro games rock harder than anything!"
- Party Mascot: Currently, it's Mr. Game and Watch. Certainly an ideal mascot. Here's an image of the guy from Super Smash Bros. Melee, where he was a character.
http://img226.imageshack.us/img226/2183/gameandwatch2qf.jpg
- Party Official Banner: Here it is... This is the default one, but like I said, if you join, I'll make one for you based on a game/character of choice!
http://img223.imageshack.us/img223/2940/retroparty4iv.jpg
- Party Leader: Me. Shaun.

Member List

Tifa's Real Lover (Really)
(Still awaiting more members. Join this l33t party while you still can!)

If you join, well, here are the positions... There can be three members for each, and here's the info, as quoted by the topic:

General 1. This group includes Gen Chat and Eyes on Each Other. Hopefully your candidates aren't EoEO banned.

General 2. This group includes Lounge, Gen Gaming, Art Gallery, and Writer's Corner. Candidates will be asked to perform tasks somehow related to these forums.

Staff/Reference. This includes Site Staff, Help, Feedback, the Archives, and any other forums certain members can seebut not others. Would be wise to get site staff or forums staff to run for this position since they might be better equipped for some tasks, but who knows.

Final Fantasy: The First Generation. Includes ff1 - ff6. Also may cover obscure old school Star Trek trivia. People running for these should hopefully have played these games.

Final Fantasy: The Second Generation. Includes ff7 - ff12 and all those sequels and stuff. Graphics whores will fit in best here. Again, it will help if your three candidates are familiar with the games.

The World is Square...and Enix. All the rest in here. Tactics, Chrono, KH, etc. Einhänder, Rad Racer, Bushido Blade. The list goes on.

Okay, here's who assigned to the different parts...

Shaun: General 1.
Darth Holmes: General 2.
Tifa's Real Lover (Really): No confirmed preference.

So what're you waiting for? Forget about Psy, forget about those stupid hot freaking air balloons, and forget pink! At the end of the day, we often just want to sit down and play a fricking game! ;) Haha. Well, in this party, you promote games! Simply post in here if you want to join. Oh, and good literacy skills aren't a requirement, but recommended.

I like the idea, but hot air balloons are actually pretty neat so I'm afraid I can't join.

Well, I'm sure there's more people to join, right? Oh well, five minutes have passed. Surely in a day, I'll have found some people who find retro gaming more important than red...pirate mages. :) Or hot air balloons! Hey, even better sigs will be on the way. It's just not as easy because the only time I ever get on the Internet is at college.

Agreed. Indeed it would. But I'm not negotiating with any other parties, just wanted to let you know. :p And the fat chocobos would take away the retro theme a bit. I'd rather ride on that dragon/chicken thing from Golden Axe. ;)

I'm very sorry about the delay. Only having access at college sucks. >_< Anyway, Tifa's Real Lover and Darth Holmes are in! We need more people! C'mon, do you want to be Psychotic's puppet? No. I wouldn't think so! This party's about free will and classic gaming, there's no reason why you shouldn't join! There's still a while left! You can still join!! Gee.

P.S. If anyone else above wanted to join, you didn't make it very clear so please say it again. :p

Edit: Remember, if any of the current members want a custom sig or anything, then they can just ask me. Try and hyperlink the sig to this thread.

(But I think being my puppet is still preferable to being your puppet)

PS: I once met a guy in a sandcastle making competition called Shaun, and I don't think you're worthy of his name. From now on, I'm gonna call you Annie.

Sounds like a plan. Set me up for FF the first gen. s.v.p. I'm more than pleased to encourage noob gamers to play oldies. But I don't really get this whole party thing. But I'd like to join one, and this seems as good as any other lol. Oh yeah, why is this in the FF5 section?

The fact that this is in the FFV forum has nothing to do with me. And maybe you should read the post above... Maybe if people's egos weren't supersized here, I'd care to continue running this party. But it's not even worth it.

Mo-Nercy
02-12-2006, 02:55 PM
How exactly will the Retro Party go about representing the non-retro Final Fantasy: Second Generation forums of EoFF? By being retro, you're not catering to the needs of all the members and that's just wrong. WRONG.

On the other hand, the Fluffy Pink Party cares for everyone. Why? We're pink, fluffy and very good in bed.

Psychotic
02-12-2006, 03:02 PM
Maybe if people's egos weren't supersized here, I'd care to continue running this party. But it's not even worth it.Here's a fun hint: Don't take anyone seriously during the elections.

And why does the size of people's egos affect your personal enjoyment of making your own party, unless they're members of your party? (And I'm assuming you're not referring to members of your own party.)

This is the Internet. People always act bigger on the net than in real life. So everyone has huge egos? So what? I mean, Psys ego defies the laws of physics by expanding faster than the universe. I personally take personal attacks as a declaration of war. So?
Just keep goin with the party.

Psychotic
02-12-2006, 03:13 PM
Insulting my ego is a personal attack, and so therefore is a declaration of war! Oh wait, sorry, I have a big ego and so therefore I consider you to be too small-fry and worthless for the likes of me to deal with.

I love the whole "Psy is arrogant and egocentric!" belief that some extremely pious and humble people hold. Keep it up, LN!

Okay, I've changed my mind then. Sorry for taking you seriously. I'm just like that; I'm a serious person. But anyway, Retro Party is back up and running now. About six days left... We DO need members. Prancing Mad, if you're still interested, you're in.

If you're looking at this topic, and you're not in a party, or leaving your current party, just give a think about it. If you don't join - I'm not going to fuss about it, but we really do need new members soon. And let's face reality - at least this party DOES represent some real material object(s) (retro games). Anyway! If you're interested, just reply and you're practically guaranteed a place. If you don't know what this party crap is all about...

Mo'...

The second generation of Final Fantasy games still use many elements from the old Final Fantasy games. The primary focus of this party (Final Fantasy-wise) is the first generation, and the secondary focus is the second generation. And by the way, you could count Final Fantasy VII - and possibly VIII - as retro now. So, tell me, how does the colour pink and Final Fantasy link?

Pwnt, I say. :D

There is only a matter of days left. I'm not going to cry about this party dying, as it already was almost closed once (as if it ever took off), but if I don't get a significant amount of members in the party within the next day or two, I might as well. I guess I should have entered my party earlier, as there'd be more members available. I practically shot myself in the foot by doing this. :p

Anyway, like I said, I'm not too bothered if nothing happens with it. I just opened a gateway of opportunity. It's up to you guys to decide whether to walk through it or not. But, as the majority of Final Fantasy fans were probably introduced to gaming THROUGH Final Fantasy, in the second generation, most probably don't know of retro games. Yeah, in the foot. ;)
