I just saw it...for the first time...

The original Japanese FFVI commercial for the Super Famicom. Complete with crazy bad dated CG, in game clips, the Final Fantasy theme accompained by lyrics, and as with all Japanese FF commercials, a live action main character cosplay!

It's charming beyond it's days.

Magitek armour in the middle of Toyko...has little if nothing to do with the game and is very misleading. Kinda like all Japanese adverts really.

The song ("Prologue") is featured in FFI-IX, not just FFI and FFIV. And it didn't have lyrics all along: that vocal version was created specially for the commercial.

I don't remember hearing "Prolouge" in any other FF than I and IV. They really should have thought of different names for the "Prelude" (played on or before loading screens) and "Prolouge" (As far as I know played during the scrolling text in I and IV) tunes. Of course, I'm probably wrong knowing you.:mad:

It's also usually not called Prologue in the soundtracks. The only main series game it was absent from was FFII.

Yeah, it's usually not called "Prologue" since it tends to be spliced into some other track, like the staff roll. And it was absent from FFX as well as FFII.

I'm not 100% sure what song you're talking about since I can't get that video to work for some stupid reason, but I would assume you're thinking of that one that tends to start off with a long harp intro, right? Well, it was in Final Fantasy X, in the part where Tidus is signing Blitzballs at the beginning. It's called The Prelude. I can link you to the song, if it's not against the rules here.

No, not prelude, prolouge. It plays in FFI and FFIV when you leave the kingdom and cross the bridge.

That commercial is freaking awesome- I just watched it like 10 times. I like how it's so unabashedly nerdy; I hate how so many video game commercials are trying to be all badass when it's completely innapropriate for the game (like the Wind waker commercials, or maybe it was four swords, I forget, of some old dude in a subway saying, "Do I smell fear?"- completely unrelated to the game and just lame!). And the Tina in magitek armor in the intersection- it's like how FF VI will like blow away your normal boring Japanese life. Makes perfect sense!
