did any one ever rub into the pink flans in any versino of FF4

Right now i ran in to one for the first time and during the battle it played the boss theam, then the mambo de chocobo theme, then regular chocobo theam, them the fat chocobo thema, and them the mysidian theam. and holy crap they give you a gang of gill..

so this is the second pair of them i ran into. Is this what it was like to run into them in the SNes and PS versions?

I've run into them on the GBA version (they're called Flan Princesses on that version) once or twice.

I killed enough of the damn things give me enough gil to max out my elixirs and dry ethers. No tail either. :(

They said "Let's Dance!" in the J2E rom. I figure their bizarre form of dance is actually the berserk status effect.

Pink Flans (or Princess Flans as their now known) invoke an invisible Berserk effect on the party. This does not affect anyone with resistance to Berserk (most likely through a Ribbon).

Do they run away or something? It's been a while and I seem to remember never actually finishing the fight completely. Like they ran away, or self-destructed or something to prevent me from killing them.

flans give u alot of gil since they mostly in groups hells yeah

At the beginning of they fight in the SNES version the do the "Let's Dance" thing which changes the music and sets berserk on your characters. At higher levels your characters have enough whatever to resist it. Then after so much time they run away unless you've killed them. To do it fast enough I recommend having Cecil attack, Kain use his spear to cast Holy, Edge attack, Rydia summon Bahumat, and Rosa cast Holy. I've fought them enough times to gain 20+ levels. A lot of times they won't drop anything, and if they do it's always been a potion for me. I've never gotten the pink tail.

Y'know, I've never ran into them in any version, but that's probably because I have no clue where they are in the Core.

Does anyone have a picture of where exactly they are? :cat:

They look like the average flan monster, but pink. There's only one room in the moons core they can be found. It's before the floor goes crystal. A small room at the bottom right of the screen with a chest in it. That's the best description I can give, falling short of an exact location.

I actually ran into them once (without sirens!) , and thanks to a ribboned-out party, they didn't get berserked. :cat:

No tail. I keep siren/resetting, no tail. I did get an elixer though. And alot of gil :D

Anyway, its the right room on the bottom of B5F. :choc2:
