Why is this sentence used EVERYWHERE here? It's in threads, random posts, and someones signature and probably other places too. Why is it so popular?

It happens when you type lol. That's LOL with a full stop right after. :p Try it! lol. It's a filter, because for...well...I don't know, actually. It hurts my eyes and I've been trying to fight it since the very beginning. Unsuccessfully.

A short time ago, in a fit if sadism the mods here decided to replace LOL with "I cried aloud with mirth and merriment." It kinda stuck from then on.

It's a filter, whenever you write lol followed by a period it gets changed to "I cried aloud with mirth and merriment". :)
