It seems really odd to me that after the escape from bevelle once youre into the calm lands all of the monsters there seem way more tougher than anything previous? has an yone noticed this?
because even after levelling up for ages before the calm lands more often than not the monsters there still manage to knock most of my characters into yellow health after like two hits??!!
very strange.....

That just seems like the natural progression...

It is natural progression. It is supposed to be a challenge at this point, but what really makes it difficult is because it is so huge, that there are not many save points in the Calm Lands, while anywhere else, you can still get into a fight while standing next to the Save Point. The save points in Calm Lands are in the Agency, and you have to walk in and out to heal. It is not strange at all. If you want strange and wierd and difficult, play FFIII at level 7 against the Giant Rat, with no mana.

The idea is that yuna is so weak in Bevelle you're supposed to run around down there for ages with her, auron, kimarhi, and lulu.

This is why there are many flans (lul), and armored (auron) creatures in the calm lands.

. . . or something.

That's more or less also a factor in the difficulty of Calm Lands. The encounter rate is also lower in the Via Purifico, so many gamers don't bother to actually catch Yuna up with anyone else.
