Best Battle Music

In your humble opinions, which tune is the best during those time consuming battles? I mean, you have to listen to it quite a bit.....

i liked all of the ones between Final Fantasy VIII - Final Fantasy XI. the best of them:

Final Fantasy IX...if one got stuck in my head, this will.
Final Fantasy X...sounds a lot like action music.
Final Fantasy XI...there's several, but i like them all.
Final Fantasy VIII...it always has an epic sound to it.

I'll have to say FFI's battle theme was my favorite. It was the first FF that I played (well, I actually watched my older sister play it when it first came out), and I remember loving the battle theme. Although, in my mind, the battle theme is not complete without the sound effects of one of the warriors slashing his sword, or one of the warriors getting hit, or the funky sound that plays when a mage casts a spell. Ahhh.. the good 'ole days.

I actually like a lot of the battle themes. I remember loving the one in FFX, and FFIV's can easily get stuck in my head. FFVII's is pretty good, along with FFVIII's. I also liked FFII's.

I really like the FFIV and FFMQ Final Battle Music. The FFIV, FFIII, FFMQ, FFVII, and FFVI Boss music was really good as well. The FFII Treasure Chest Battle Music (I hope you know what I mean) is awesome despite how short it is.

If we're talking regular battle music; FFVI.
If we're talking about all the battle themes in each game, FFVI still gets my vote. Every one of the battle themes was amazing in that game.

I must say, I'm kind of surprised how many people have chosen FFVIII. Man with the Machine Gun was good, as was the final boss theme, but the others bored me to tears, and those two still don't compare to the themes in FFVI if you ask me.

Final Fantasy Tactics is chock full of great battle themes, and well-composed ones at that. In addition, about one-third of the OST is filled with 'em, and that's commendable since they all sound great and have a purpose, rather than one or two variants of some "normal" theme and a "boss" theme. They hold a mystique because they sound like actual compositions that could fit in anywhere in the game, and that's why I find they mesh better than any other game's.

It hurts me that FFT is placed in the same league as the "sequels and stuff," though...

Sorry, but I wanted them to be listed number-wise first, and then come up with a catchall for the rest, mainly because I didnt want the poll to be flooded with answers because that there is every FF game listed. (notice X-2 isnt listed, either.)
