I got one with the vana'diel collection- its basically a free trial that a friend can use for 30 days, using your CD for the installation. Pretty good if you know someone who wants to try it out.

thats perfect, heres a big question, can he and i use it at the same time on differant pcs?

The same buddypass? No. Can he use the boddypass on his PC while you use your account on your PC? Yes, that's how it's supposed to work.

what if he wants his own account, can he just install from my disk and play without any cds?

You never need a CD to play FFXI- once its installed it'll run with or without the CD. Basically, once you've installed it on his machine he can play for 30 days. If he or she wants to keep playing after that they'll need to buy their own copy and register for a full account, as opposed to a buddy pass. Im not certain, but I think they might be able to carry over the same character they used in the 30 days. Might be worth looking into that.
