A skillchain? It's using weapon skills in succession. There's certain combinations that you can use to create different results (elemental based effects that can be bursted off of with magic). Look up a chart on google to see the combinations that work. Timing between the weapon skills should be a couple seconds. That's about as basic as it gets.

P.S. You have to do your weapon skills roughly 3-5 seconds apart. I just count 'till 3 then macro it.

Here is a good macro setup.

If you start the skillchain use this:

/p <Name of Weaponskill in Auto-Translate> <call>
/wait 1
/ws "Name of Weaponskill" <t>

If you end it try this one:
/p <Name of Weaponskill in Auto-Translate> <call>
/wait 2
/ws "Name of Weaponskill" <t>

The reason I use 2 seconds after the first one is done when closing, is because lag usually dosnt let it go off right away. I found at /wait 3 was taking too long and would always be too late. Anyways here is a link to a nice weaponskill chart.

It can be viewd as a jpeg or through acrobat. Hope it helps, good luck in game.

You'd probably need some practical experience in trying out skillchains with party members before you really start to understand it.

Take note of what Roogle said. In my own experiences, it was quite difficult to figure out the timing of a closing skillchain, but once I figured out when to do it, it was simple to remember.

I've noticed most parties tend to teach you if you tell them that you're having trouble figuring it out. ^^
