I am a north american interested in going through FFX again. I got it on launch day here. I heard about the new bosses and so forth in the international version; I am wondering if that version is available here in America. I thought maybe the greatest hits version might be it, but I dont know... seems we americans are always getting screwed when it comes to the FF re-releases.

Neither PAL nor Int. are available in America. You could import them, along with the necessary PS2, or modify your current PS2 (illegal, I think) if you wanted to play them.

Modifying your PS2 is not illegal. It just enables you to play illegal copies of games and movies, along with import games.

Extra bosses which you probably wont beat because there so hard is not enough reason to import.

i strongly disagree. the dark aeons and penance are very cahllenging which makes them very very fun! i think its the whole reason ffx was made

and that reason wiped me out, I couldn't pass any of dark aeons and thats makes me never win FF even once. (you can win without beating the aeons but I am the person who want a complete victory) so....................................................:(

They're optional bosses for a reason

I wanted a complete play through, optional bosses and all. They may be hard, but it's what I want to do; I am glad those bosses are there and would look forward to challenging them were they brought to my shores :(

Modifying your PS2 is not illegal.
It is in the United States.

Many modshops are located in the US though. I've even bought something from one. If they're illegal, how come they haven't been shut down?

The same reason there's thousands of commercial torrent sites that let you download $500.00 dollar programs and entire DVD boxsets for free that haven't been shut down.

There's a difference. It can be argued that none of the torrent sites host the illegal files themselves. However, a modchip is an actual physical object, and it's offered for sale through their stores. Something tells me the latter is much easier to shut down than the first.
