Although you probably wont listen at all, I recommend getting some Stuff that isnt rock. There's some great rap and Classical out there, some for everybody...

I'll beat azzie to it and suggest Phantom Planet.

Smashing Pumpkins would also be worth a try, and maybe The Ataris?

If you like RHCP, you might like Faith No More. They have some of the same funkish elements mixed with rock that made RHCP so great, with their own unique sound. Oh, and the vocals kick ass too.

Well, judging by some of the stuff you like, I'd recommend:

My Chemical Romance- Get the first album (I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love), it's better than their second

Hawthorne Heights- 'The Silence in Black and White' and 'If Only You Were Lonely'

Senses Fail- 'Let it Enfold You'

From First to Last- 'Dear Diary, my Teen Angst has a Bodycount'

Silverstein- 'Discovering the Waterfront'

Those are all pretty similar to The Used (the 5 mentioned there are screamo bands)

If you like Fall Out Boy, Panic! at The Disco sounds a lot like them...

And just because I like them, I'll say Green Day too. Dunno if you like them though.

Yeah, that is why I am recommending outside of what is being asked for. I only recommend people things like what they are asking for if I know they are looking for good music or have an already competent taste in music.

Aside from that I recommend people things that they don't usually listen to so I can help "evolve" what they listen to, and broaden their musical horizons.

They both suck anyways, so lets go with the "don't listen to them" approach.

Not sure if its your kind of music or not, but A Perfect Circle, Tool, Audioslave, Rage Against the Machine, are all great bands. A Perfect Circle has two different cd's (style of music). Their first cd, Mer De Noms, is heavier than their 2nd one, Thirteenth Step, but both are very, very good cd's. I would of also said 30 Seconds to Mars, but you already put that you liked them, great band by the way ;)

Led Zeppelin if no one said it already. If your not sure of what they sing (shame on you!!! jk ;)) then I would recommned their Best of Early Days and Latter Days. Its a 2 disc box set that has some of their greatest songs on it. Especially the first cd, ahhhhh the greatness of Stairway to Heaven and the Immigrant Song. Truely great stuff

Jimmy Eat World - Work, and because I saw you mention the Dresden Dolls in LJ... Dresden Dolls - Girl Anachronism, Mandy Goes to Med School, Sex Changes, Shores of California, Good Day, Jeep Song, and Half Jack are all excellent songs. :)

Boy, I love posting in a thread belittling people's musical tastes when it's clear what they asked for is what they like and not what I like instead, a style of music which I feel I must foist on all and sundry as it is the only good music around.

P.S. Taking Back Sunday lolz.

Again not sure if you like them or not but Pink Floyd is a godly band. I just started listening to them a few months ago and they are by far one of my all time favorite bands. If you would happen to want to get into them, try Dark Side of the Moon (most say its their best cd) and the compliation Echoes. Echoes has some really great songs on it and its a good way to see if you like them or not.
