I have posted this forum so that all the other 18 yr. old guys out there can tell me its cool and they liked it too. :( DAMNIT! ...thats not going to happen is it?

My girlfriend really liked it, but I've never seen it myself :cat: Wasn't it a book(play?) before it was turned into a movie? :choc2:

I wasn't sure I was going to like it, but when I sat down and watched it, I was pleasantly surprised.

Now Chicago, on the other hand...

Yeah, I had that. Didn't even secure me a marriage. :( But I thought it was completely abysmal, and I hated it beyond words. It was one of the worst movies I have ever seen.

Moulin Rogue was a good enough film. It was worth the time i spent on watching it.

Never seen it. I loved Romeo & Juliet by Baz Luhrmann though, so I may like this.

Probably not mate. :-P

Moulin Rouge isn't what I can't a particularly terrible movie, but I've always found there was something horribly... average about it. Simply put, Ewan McGregor and Nicole Kidman are average singers at best, and that movie could have been so much more had they actually got professionals to do their parts.

As it stands, it's a decent movie, but one I wouldn't go out of my way to watch again any time soon.

Hell, I had the opposite happen. I had to force my wife to watch it. Moulin Rouge is one of my favorite movies. Such an emotional film. Nicole Kidman was only decent in her singing, but Ewan McGregor could sing to me anyday.

Snatched up the 2-disc set as soon as it came out. :D

I thought it was okay, but I prefer the real cabaret musicals such as: Cabaret, Funny Girl and The Unsinkable Molly Brown.

Well yeah, Cabaret is a thousand times better than Moulin Rouge!. (and i also liked the original Moulin Rouge movie, which was more a documentary about Toulouse-Lautrec;) )

What's wrong with a guy liking musicals? I'm a guy and I like musicals ... and I'm straight ... and I'll probably get in trouble for saying that.

I kinda liked it, but I was also kinda wasted while I watched it.

I think I was 19 when it first came out.
