Here's one you can file under: "you're pulling my plonker". An Indian film director is considering Paris Hilton for the role of saintly Mother Teresa, IANS news agency suggests.

Director T Rajeevnath admitted: "My agents in California have contacted Paris Hilton." He explained that the reason behind this extending of feelers in Hilton's direction was the multi-talented heiress's refusal to get her kit off for Playboy.

Rajeevnath continued: "Although there are several actresses willing to play the role of Mother Teresa, the most widely respected and loved person, the history of the actress who is finally chosen for the role would have to be analysed thoroughly before she is chosen."

We reckon Mr Rajeevnath is going to get a nasty shock when he finally gets around to analysing Ms Hilton's "history". Regarding her acting credentials, well, she last year appeared in House of Wax, which was pretty well universally kicked to death by the critics.

Likewise, her steamy Carl's Jr. Spicy BBQ Burger TV advert cavort did little to demonstrate convincing thespian tendencies.

She did, though, give a far more convinving technical performance in One Night in Paris, albeit displaying the sort of skills which we very much doubt will be required to play Mother Teresa. As one critic put it: "In this 37-minute shagfest Hilton literally sucks. And so does her acting." ®
It's only a maybe, but it's a very scary maybe.

Unfortunately, April's Fools Day is still over a month away...

Update: Oh god, it's really going to happen!

Paris Hilton is thrilled to be playing Mother Teresa in an upcoming biopic.

The hotel heiress has been approached by award-winning director T Rajeevnath, who is convinced that she will be a huge success.

"My agents in California have contacted Paris Hilton. I think she'll be a hit," he explained.

"The preliminary script has been readied. And the proceeds of the film would go to the Missionaries of Charity. By June this year, the groundwork for the film would be complete and I propose to begin shooting in West Bengal and several foreign countries in early 2007."

Hilton explained, "It's such an honour. I'm so excited. I really want to learn more about this amazing woman, so that's what I'm doing in a few months."

In preparation for the role, Paris is apparently joining the Order of Mother Teresa missionaries, and will travel around Bangalore and Calcutta to care for the sick.

A source told, "Paris is tougher than most people think. But I don't think she knows what she's let herself in for. The Calcutta nuns are notoriously strict, so she will have to be on her best behaviour."
Has this world gone completely insane?!

This news scares me.

I have nothing against Paris Hilton, but she's just so the wrong person to play Mother Teresa.

I *DO* have something against her. the fact that anyone even knows who she is is a travesty, and a sign of where so-called "fame" is heading. You don't have to have credentials, you just have to sacrifice the last shred of dignity you have. Or put out. Or both.

I need to shoot that man. Does he live in a cave? I'm going to seriously campaign against this if it's true. I will not rest until they halt all production; I will burn their...their..script! NO fucking way! :(

No idea if shes a good actor or not as I never saw her in a movie, but I dont see why she shouldnt play mother Teresa just because of her personal life.

No, no , you're all wrong. It's a Hollywood adaptation of her life,- like Churchill : The Hollywood Years, though in this case, the venerable Mother Teresa is a high society, diamond-rattling, cappucino-drinking, cocksucking LA bimbo whose initial foray into the world of publicity becomes a dangerous gauntlet of brutal pimps and sleazy marketing executives. Beneath the glamorous sheen of Hollywood is a hive of human sin and corruption, but somewhere ... somewhere, there is light. Inspired by subliminal messages from God in a Spice Girls album, Paris sheds the trappings of her comfortable and morally decadent lifestyle and embraces the light, vowing to bring the citizens of LA out of the darkness and into the house of God ( the guy who played Whistler in Blade).

That's it - that's the premise of the entire movie, as detailed in the script, titled audaciously " Paris Teresa : Saviour of Hollywood." I read it.
