After giving the first 12 to people who want them, I have 8 left. The first 8 people to post THE ADDRESS THEY USE WHEN THEY USE MSN can have the rest of them. Enjoy.

Just a note: Only people who are invited can use MSN 8 at this point. That means that if more than one person uses MSN on your computer, the won't be able to use it with their current account yet.

I already have Windows Live Messenger BETA and so far it sucks.

I haven't had any problems that I didn't have with 7.5, but one person I was talking to said he's had some new ones.

I bet this one has a lot more annoying features.

There's a sharing feature I haven't bothered to look into, you can change the colour of the main contact list, and you can send offline messages now (which is actually useful).

MSN should die! One day we all devolve and start communicating via flashes of light. :) I sure hope so.

I got those too.

MSN Beta was kinda nifty until they did the upgrade the other week. Then it went back to looking a lot like 7. Anyways, it is like identical to 7 minus the fact that it looks slightly different, better in my opinion and like roto said it has a new feature of "Shared Folder" *shrugs*

That's not new.

Oh boy, more features to turn off.

They keep on piling usless crap on with MSN. I'd go back to Windows Messenger if it wasn't so broken.

I remembered I stopped using the wink smiley when they changed it in the 6.0 version because it looked like it had cancer. still does.

I hated msn7-- filled up with unneccessary stuff.

And I still remember the 'msn 6 beta' full of spyware.

So I'll be stickin' with my trillian baby8)

Check your hotmail. You should have an invitation from me, with a link to download MSN 8 BETA.

It definently has a much better look. Other than that and the offline messages nothing much has changed. Well I suppose you can also call a contact's computer but that really doesn't appeal to me.

I have to laugh at the people who complain about how dodgy and unreliable it is... You people do actually know what a BETA is, don't you? If you want a reliable product (well, as reliable as Microsoft can get), stick with the current one and wait for the official edition of Messenger Live to come out. :rolleyes2

I tried it myself about a week back. There are some quite interesting features, the most useful in my veiw being the ability to leave messages to people that are offline. Though why they simply didn't implement that years ago is beyond me...

Microsoft sucks like that, I guess.

I remember somebody once mentioning a feature that allows someone to listen to the music you have playing on your PC while you're talking to them. Does anyone know anything about that?

Roto13

I'd like to hear about that as well. I haven't seen it.

Larahl
03-12-2006, 12:49 PM
That feature started at v7.0.
When you hearing music your friend on the list can see what you're listening to in the place where you write the personal message.

You also can Turn on/off.
Or did it start in v7.5? no I'm sure it started at 7.0...

Ah man, I thought 7.5 was bad. This thing won't even work 5 minutes without dying!

I meant actually streaming the music to people. And I just gave away my last invite.
