View Full Version : Oh my---WOW. PS2 Version of VIII was planned

Go to the very bottom of this page to see some BEAUTIFUL screenshots on how VIII would look on PS2. The site said that this was planned, but I'm not sure if that's correct or if it was just to show off the PS2 capabilities. Either way: WOW.

And they were pretty much right too. I would say those aren't too far off what the PS2 is capable of now. Seeing that, I believe the FF7 tech demo shows what the PS3 will be like without exaggerating it.

Either way, the screenshots are awesome.

I agree. Hopefully the target rendering on the PS3 won't be as far off as the 360.

There was also a tech demo based on the ballroom dance scene.

I've never seen it, just heard that it exists somewhere.

theyre amazing, it just strenghtens my opinion of that a ff8 remake should be made, i love it.

The demo referred to at the start of this thread IS the ballroom dance scene. You can see it at the page linked to there.

Just based off the screen-shots of the tech demo, I think the PS1 version looked better. The PS2 shots looked really liney with funky colors. I think I'll go watch the tech demo like someone just mentioned anyway, though.

I noticed more details on Squall's SeeD uniform, but not alot different. (They look kinda sloppy.) I thought they were going to be FMV quality...:cat:

They did that with 7 on the PS2 or PS3? I have that Tech Demo for VII on PS3.

They showed it on X Play? Awesome. I'd love to see the video to it.

I think they usually do in-game quality, to show off how an average game would look. Real time, all that.

As for tech demos, there have been demos made of VI, VII, and VIII. No remakes of any of those games.

For those of you wanting to watch the tech demo video, go back in the archives a bit. I know it's been posted at some point.
