How do you alleviate boredom?

Yes, I really am so incredibly bored today that I'm making a thread asking others how they alleviate their own boredom. :D

So, what do you do on those dull as mud days to keep yourself entertained? What keeps you preoccupied when you have nothing else to do, just to pass the time? I shall answer myself later, as soon as my brain decides to wake itself up properly...

I usually try to get away from boredom completely, because when I get bored, it's like it's too much time alone with myself and I get really depressed...(I COULD whine more, but won't...)
So I usually make my own chaos somewhere.

Lately I've been so bored I got myself the Japanese Final Fantasy Vi script and started translating it just for bore's sake. It's so addictive I don't have any time left to play Baldur's Gate II. XD

Many things. Draw, Write, Read (Yes, books do still exist), Sing, Play my Guitar, Post on various forums, Gaming, Call up people and create some sort of gathering, Watch a movie... Then again, just going off of that I'm usually not that bored, I can keep myself fairly entertained in any circumstance. But there are those times that I just have to get out of the house and do something... but that's easily remidied too, just do it.

I'm online basically all of the time, whether I'm bored or being bombarded with things to do. :bigsmile:

Most of the time I've got coursework to do, a website to make and graphics to make for that website and a long with that I have school and housework to keep up with aswell. The rest of the time I'm either out with my friends, posting on forums, being an operator in a IRC server, watching movies or listening to music and singing really loudly, (I feel sorry for my family)! :laugh:

I rarely get bored anymore. I used to sit around doing nothing all day, but now I wish that there were more hours in the day! :grinpink:

I'm suprised you didn't put stalking people on that list. Anyway, what I do to alleviate boredom? Scream really loudly "COOS COOS!". Then watch as people's heads turn with fright.

I enjoy writing stories and novels, so that is what I usually like to do when I am bored. Sometimes, I also like to draw pictures of people and events from those stories. Its really fun.

If I'm bored at home, I play Ragnarok Online or Battlefield 2 to pass time.

If I'm bored when I'm with my friends, I'm probably drunk and not bored at all.

If I'm drunk...well, that's self explanitory.

I usually take a nap or read a nice book. :) Just go to the library and pick out everything that seems interesting. You'd never get bored. But if you don't like books, play video games, or get on EoFF.

Which ever seems appropriate at the time. If I'm completely bored and the first three don't help, then sitting around doing nothing is a waste of time, I might as well sleep. d-n n

I either come on the computer (although I come on for fun, really, not just because I'm bored), or play videogames, or sit on my bed and pout about how bored I am while listening to music. That can be pretty fun. Or I wait for my friends to call me and then we can all be bored together!

make passionate love to my girlfriend. then buy her roses and poke her for an hour.....after that i might cook up some Pizza Pockets and watch some corny such as ummmm: Dawn of the Dead, Red Scorpion (Dolph Lungren),etc.....
If that doesn't fix this bad case of boredom I might go up to the attic and try to count the cobwebs and spiders up there............then shower for an hour afterwards its bedtime so i cry myself to sleep because i touched spiders and watched Red Scorpion......

pizza pockets are delicious, not the lean ones though they suck, as for the boredom part i uhh, try to break dance(i dont know how to break dance), do kung fu kicks(they're not really kung fu, i jus think kung fu sounds a lot cooler than karate kicks), eat hot pockets(pizza or breakfast), watch g4, find spiders looking object to frighten my girlfriend, spoil game endings(havent done that one yet but it sounds fun), oh ya and forums.
