This has been done before. Of course, this is just my opinion, only the makers of the game can tell us who would win.

I say Tidus would win, because his father is Sin. Shuyin MAY have Vegnagun, but it can't distinguish between friend and foe, so the chances of it attacking anything at all would be slim, plus, in FFX, it has been established that Machina do very little damage to Sin, because of the 1000 years stemming the rise of technology, and giving Yu Yevon time to power-up Sin. Vegnagun is simply out of date (now matter how much world he can blow up, Sin stopped 1000 years worth of technology alone).

Also, Tidus can do 99999 damage, and does not even need a powered-up Blitzball to finish his Overdrive. Shuyin can barely get past 500 even with chain attacks, and does 400 MAX for his final attack with a Legendary Weapon. Plus, people who are EMO ALWAYS lose. Explains why they can't ever succeed in killing themselves either.

In addition, considering the way they were formed/born, Tidus probably would've gotten 1000 years worth of slightly better genes than Shuyin, because Tidus' form is based on Shuyin's memory template.

But Kefka would step in, look at them both, and they would just shut up. Then C-h-u-c-k N-o-r-r-i-s will roundhouse kick all three of them and walk away.

Tidus will win

Reason:
1) Tidus BlitzAce can inflict 8 strike of 99999, while Shuyin Terror of Zanarkand can only inflict 200-300 per hit, what a pity....(Maechen always say that if you do not listen to his story)
2) Tidus is a lot original than Shuyin (don't know why this is the reason)
3) Vegnagun and Shuyin both have lower HP, One Tidus Hit can finish them.
4) Jecht/Sin willl fight Vegnagun, Sin will win definitely.
5) Tidus sword Brotherhood looks more cooler than Shuyin blue-colour sword.

How can even Shuyin count on Vegnagun when it is just an oversized piece of scrap metal disguised as the most powerful machina on Spira? 'Sides, many gamers complained on how pathetically easy Vegnagun was.

if it was just tidus and shuyin with no one or thing else it could go either way. seems as tidus is barely in FFX-2 its hard to compare. just saying tidus can do 99,999 damage isnt enough to say he could win. if you just imagine that they were real people and there were no stats or damage points because saying " tidus win because he can do 99,999 damage" doesnt really prove anything. if you think about it that way tidus could beat anything. its truwe that on the game, one hit from tidus could finish vegnagun and shuyin. but if you imagine it in real life it would happen something like this. tidus slashes at vegnagun. barely a scratch ( swords vs mega thick armour?). vegnagun blasts tidus. goodbye tidus.

tidus is about 21 while rikku is 17, yuna is 19 and paine is 18.

it's called determination. nothing can stop that. besides they both have the same moves so they would be evenly matched.
vegnagun does take time to atk so tidus could just jump to the helm and run him through.

You cant consider actual damage scores here (because in FFX-2 the damage tends to be about 8x lower) and Tidus would pwn Shuyin because of Sin. ^_^
