Isn't it time we made the staff titles' colors better.

Think about it. Silver, blue and yellow have no relation to each other. But gold, silver and bronze do. Make the admins' title gold, the mods' title silver and the former staffs' title bronze. That way you can know who is who and what powers they have. Just like in the Olympics. Gold is the best, then silver, then bronze, i.e. The admins are the best, then the moderators, then the former staff, who hang out on the podium but don't do much other than try to look good.

I'm going to pretend this thread is about asking the staff for coloured titles (because I really do want one :D)

Hey staff can I have a pretty non-pink, non-Banned coloured title?

I was just thinking about this.

Almost a year ago BoB went all crazy with the idea and stopped wth the colored custom titles. I argued about it but BoB was all like it's annoying for the Admins to get PMs about it, or that it shows status and all that. So, I sent a PM survey to all the Admins of the time asking them if they've ever been asked to color a custom title, if they have changed one, if getting asked was annoying, if they think it's a status symbol and all that kind of stuff. Most of them agreed with one or two things BoB said, but overall didn't seem to mind it at all. I was going to show it to BoB back then, but I didn't think it would make any difference. Might as well do it now.

I really don't see how they're a status symbol when only Psychotic, Monkey, Big D, and myself had one at the time (except spuuky, who still does :p). What status do we have :confused:

Flying Mullet

Is there a way to enable html in the custom titles so we can color them ourselves? Then there's no special privleges as everyone can do it.

As for the starr recoloring their titles, that's a big NO. When color was first mention, the idea was to use "Britty Blue" for the Cid's Knight, Silver was the color of choice for Administrators because back then. While it's not the Gold, Silver, Bronze that you wish it was, it's a lot better than White, White, White.

Oh yeah, color for custom titles would be awesome. But sadly, enabling html in the custom title area would be bad.

why is the staff so resistant to change things and make this place more cool, but then when they change things everyone must like it. Shinra stinks.

The colours will stay as they are because they are not just random. A lot of thought and consideration has been put into these choices.

Colured titles for regular members will never happen on a regular basis because for there would be too much confusion for newbies, etc. as to who is actually Staff or not, as only Staff have coloured titles (except Spuuky, of course).

Dignified Pauper
03-30-2006, 06:01 PM
well then, I'm still for flying mullet's suggestion of changing staff colors. It'd be cooler and easier to identify things with.

CK = Gold
SSS = Silver
SS = Bronze
FS = Blue Ribbon
RM = Red Ribbon

Why are the custom titles dismissed as "fine" when a majority of members of this board haven't given thier opinion on the matter? Maybe there are more people who want colorized cutom titles?

I dunno. I don't mean to get all Raistlin on you guys, but just cause staff doesn't like something, what if the majority of the members want it? Provided that something isn't something outlandish, why not? I'd like a colored custom title anyway.

Or something.

Colured titles for regular members will never happen on a regular basis because for there would be too much confusion for newbies, etc. as to who is actually Staff or not, as only Staff have coloured titles (except Spuuky, of course).

Because the extra title and the words "Administrator" and "Cid's Knight" make things SO unclear. :(

If the majority of the people want something that is not a reason to do it. Like it or not, this forum is not a democracy. You guys are always free to make suggestions and requests but the final decisions come down to staff and their preferences on how the board should be run.

I think the color titles would look dumb, but more importantly the reason we have certain colors for the usergroup titles is so that they can be distinguished.

Psychotic

You guys are always free to make suggestions and requests but the final decisions come down to staff and their preferences on how the board should be run.I told you guys the staff sucked, but would you listen? Oh no, you had to go and make countless "I HEART THE STAFF!" threads.

Now the forums have gone to hell. It's not like the old days, you know. In the old days, the staff would've given everyone a coloured custom title and perhaps even a shetland pony, too.
