Threads about people and events that go on in the world, are deligated to Eyes on Eachother, correct?
Threads that are about specific final fantasy games are deligated to that Final Fantasy forum, correct?
A thread questioning who we think the best looking boy in final fantasy ten is, in the ffx forum.
A thread questioning who we think the best looking girl in the world is, in the replacement for eyes on the world, eoeo. Maybe it'd be better in gen chat for it to get spammed up with 90 pictures of chun-li in about 20 seconds.
Sexism? I've seen 'girls only' or whatnot, on many threads that deal with subjects boys would have no interest in!

I'm going to save us all a big long thread here.
The staff will find a minute difference in thread A from thread B, and keep pointing it out again and again, refusing to even consider the possibility that they might actually be wrong in any way. Someone will question why Kane cares so much about this issue, and then we all spam 'til closure.
Nothing is changed.

I think you missed the point. Leeza's citation of sexism didn't refer to the "males only" aspect so much as it referred to the "base objectification of the opposite sex" aspect.
NeoCracker

Hey, women can objectify us men if they want, I don't think we'd complain.

You might want to use a definition that isn't sexist itself.
But still, I don't follow how saying which women you find attractive and then posting pictures proving yourself, fit into any of those definitions.
Leeza
04-02-2006, 09:48 PM
Argue with dictionary.com. That's their definition. They did not say only against women. And sexism, in my experience, usually does refer generally to women.
I believe the term used was hot. Not attractive. There is a sexist difference there.

No there isn't. Maybe if it was "lets post pictures of those creatures that ammuse our penises, as there is nothing else they're good for" rather than "HEY LETS POST HOT GURLZ!!!!" or whatever, it would have possibly been sexist.

As I understand it it's not up to the staff to say whether or not a thread is appropriate for EoEO versus GC; it's up to how serious the poster would like to be. If I were to make a similar thread I'd make it in EoEO so I could report nik when he posts that retard in the car picture.

If your desire to discuss the attractiveness of celebrities is really that large (or, probably more accurately, your desire to 'stick one to the staff' [precious, precious pride, we must let you soar]), please do so in GC, and tastefully.
Leeza felt that that thread was not in conjunction with the tasteful and serious tones of the eoeo forum, and I agree with her, and that is why it was not allowed.

Up to a point almost all subjects are permitted in EoEO, yes. However, the final say does come from Staff.

Hmmm, I understand what you all are saying and I don't understand why Leeza's trying to boast around with the argument of the dictionary, do you not havce a mind of your own and the dictionary was created by people so as in that it is simply what the people want to make out of the word which means that really all words don't really have a true meaning and as my final statement I think that it was wrong they weren't showing porn or saying sexist things about them right and it was boys only too correct?

I would say a thread only about women would be fair only because there's still equal opportunity for a male-only thread to be made; whether or not the female (or gay male) members take advantage of that doesn't make the women-only thread sexist.
