Are you allowed to buy them anywhere online?

Well I get some of my CD's and games and DVD's from www.play.com . Prices are good I think.

The best place to get them is on Ebay, I know several sellers there that sell them really cheap.

Barring that, your best bet is spending somewhere between $30 and $40 on a CD either at an Anime Convention, a local anime/import store, or on Amazon. Those are the only places I've ever seen them.

www.gamemusic.com

It seems so obvious...

Anyway, if a soundtrack is still being manufactured, chances are it's on there. They're a little pricey, but in the case of things like FF soundtracks, they can be up to 4 CD's and have to be imported from Japan. If you can't get them used somewhere though, this is probably the best bet.
