Overrated: yes. But I still enjoy it.

Probably not.

I'd go with that. I still love it though, plus I'm the only person on the planet who prefers RoTJ over ESB.

Star Wars:cool: , now that's just plain nostalgia: i saw Episode IV when i was 9^^and since then i've seen the original trilogy a trillion times:p .
And the new trilogy...well....filmographic they're simply not good (especially Episode I, and also II:mad: ), but i watched, just 'cause i love the characters and the entire story. Plus, i think Revenge of The Sith is better than The Empire Strikes Back.:) Here's my top:

Original Trilogy:
1. Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back
2. Episode VI: Return of the Jedi
3. Episode IV: A New Hope

New Trilogy:
1. Episode III: Revenge of the Sith
2. Episode II: Attack of the Clones
3. Episode I: The Phantom Menace

:D and thus:

1. Revenge of the Sith
2. The Empire Strikes Back
3. Return of the Jedi
4. Attack of the Clones
5. A New Hope
6. The Phantom Menace

I thoroughly enjoy the original trilogy and mildly enjoy the newer one.

And I don't believe it's overrated. When you look at the amount of money that franchise makes, I believe that they deserve every last bit.

IMO, they are the most culture affecting movies of all time.

I don't really like the word overrated, but yeah I guess that's the right word for it. The more I think about it, the more I see how crap they are.

However, they can still be pretty fun to watch, once in awhile.

The original movies are wonderful for many, many reasons. Fantastic effects for the time, overall good acting, great cast chemistry, a wonderful script chock-full of mythological archetypes and some really good storytelling. The new movies, though, are a bit different. They were far more reliant on computer graphics, the acting was subpar, and the characters didn't have the same life that the original cast did. I still enjoy watching them, but they don't deserve anywhere near the level of praise as the original trilogy. I don't think the original trilogy is overrated at all. They deserve their spots on the list of the most landmark films of all time.

Not a huge fan, but Episode III: Revenge of the Sith is a good one, as well as the originals. I think that they would be viewed as being even better if Lucas didn't try to milk them for every freakin' penny and dime. At least thats my opinion

Well, when there are people out there who base their entire lives around Star Wars, it's hard to say they're not overrated.

I like them though, even the new ones.

I've only watched the more recent Star War movies, and I didn't enjoy them. They weren't horrible just not... enjoyable. =/

I totally agree. Not so much with episodes 4, 5 and 6. I sort of liked 1 as well. But even those ones are over-rated. The REAL garbage was epidodes 2 and 3. Those were awful. They had no real scenes, just computer-animated sh*t. The acting and screenplay sucked, and the reason why the acting sucked is that they're acting on a blue screen, which is very difficult. In reality the cast aren't bad actors, it's the blue screen.

The original three are solid movies. Not fantastic, but good and enjoyable movies. Classics.

The new trilogy is a bunch of crap, though. Episode III was the only one worth seeing once, but that's about it. Horrible horrible acting. However, I have to give the writers some credit: I didn't know it was possible to completely minimize a character played by Samuel L. Jackson. Jackson usually dominates a movie, but in Star Wars 1-3, Jackson's role is hardly noticeable and doesn't add anything to the movie.

You're not the only one.

Overrated crap includes:

1-Star Wars
2-Harry Porter
3-Matrix
4-X-Men (movies)

Do I think it's okay? Yes.

Do I live or die by it? Not in this lifetime.

NO! NO NO NO OH I  YOU!

Well, I think they're overrated. Never bothered to watch 'em enough to judge them as crap so I won't be mean. But Jar Jar Binks really, really, really infuriated me. :(

I wanted Jar Jar Binks to die horribly. Flashy CGI effcts do not make a story.
