Did anyone other than me hate his voice? It was too zaney (for lack of a better word) for my taste...Red XIII I always thought of as sounding very smart and full of wisdom, maybe it's just me?

Agreed.His voice should be deep,not scarse,because it makes him look like an old man with drug addiction or asthma.

No, probably not. His voice is more what I'd expect from a kid's cartoon talking animal...not Red XIII...maybe it's just cuz I don't like AC anyway but meh.

Well,not if it's good.I have a weird habit of doing voice casts on the characters with my own voice in different tones and contrast and I think personally that Red's voice should be deep because he's already 48.

Anyway, I thought his voice was just fine the way it was in the Japanese version. The credits say his voice actor was a special appearance or something.

Well it appears the voice I was complaining about was Cait Sith's because he's on top of Red's head. ;-; that's what I get for watching low quality videos. I think the voice fits Cait Sith, and Red XIII's is okay for the one line he gets :\

Yeah, his voice seemed plenty deep to me. I think the voice casting was superb, whatever faults the movie itself may have had.

yeah i noticed that. the first time Cait talked i was like OMG was that RED??? i thought his voice would be deep, not squeaky xD but then i realised it was Cait. also, according to my friend, the english subtitles for Cait Sith are hilarious. is that true?

I knew it was Cait right away, but I was disappointed. I'd always imagined the little cat's voice as being . . . I don't know, girlie I guess. That's what I hear when I think of tiny talking cats.
Anyway, it ticked me off that every time I thought Red was going to say something, Cait got his two bits in instead.
