View Full Version : "I'm sorry about the ice cream." - Donald ????

Ok, quick question, containing small spoiler, hopefully it's just me being forgetful.

You know in Hollow Bastion when Goofy gets sideswiped by a giant rock and collapses. Donald is trying to wake Goofy up, and he says "I'm sorry about the ice cream." What is he talking about? I know there's a scene shortly after this where Donald eats the Sea-Salt Ice Cream bar, but nothing beforehand. What is he talking about?

That happens after Goofy gets hit in the head, not before. It would have to have been something happened before.

I think it was in Twilight Town, after they revived. Goofy told Donald not to eat the ice cream, but Donald ate it before Goofy could mention it. I can't remeber the specific scene, but for some reason, Twilight Town is sticking out in my head as the explanation. Highly doubtful, however.

It could have been that the game developers made a small plothole, mixing up their events, hehehe.

maybe it's just something that happened between goofy and donald before the story... like donald stole goofy's ice cream when they were kids... or not...

Remember when Goofy got bonked on the head, then everyone gets mad and Sora runs off and fights some heartless with the help of the FF characters, and then Goofy is suddenly better and Mickey remembers Xehanort, and Sora kills 1000 heartless, and then the scene with Axel, Saix and Malificent, and then the three are pulled into a portal of darkness and then Sora receives the picture and the ice cream in the little box and Donald ate the ice cream and Goofy got pissy, then Sora opens another gate and then they were back on the gummi ship?

Did they receive ice cream and a picture more than once?

are we forgetting Donald and Goofy were created like 50 years ago? there's probably a black and white classic cartoon where Donald steals Goofy's ice cream or knocks it out of his hand. The FF video game generation wouldn't get it unless they watched oldies (i love classic Casper the ghost).

and the box with ice cream happens AFTER Goofy gets knocked out. i'm sure if we all check the game Journal it'll prove it.

Did Donald eat Sea-Salt Ice Cream while they were on Yen Sid's train? (I assume it's his.)

Way off. The black void event had Donald taste the ice cream.
Goofy said "Are you sure you want to do that?" and Donald licked it (if not then almost) and then it started floating in the air. That's when Sora unlocked the gate to . . . I actually don't know where it was supposed to go. I don't remember the Ice Cream ever being used after that. Of course, recently, I just skip all the scenes (with the exception of the black void event that I had to remember to watch).

The event Ice Cream event must have occurred earlier. I'll have to avoid skipping scenes the next time I play through. Maybe it was has something to do with Scrooge McDuck's unfinished ice cream product during the first visit to HB?
