Well, as the sewers in FFVII seem to open into darkness that you can't move into, nor interact with, let's try the frontal assault. I like that more anyway :D
Fixed. Not sure how that happened, but it should work now in the version on the link.

I went into the front door in the FFVII forum and was atacked by a lot and a lot of soldiers at the end there was a boss..the thing is it took me about 15 minutes to kill will all the bosses have such high hp?

Well actually i suffered from the same problem as behold the void and couldn´t level up so they were all still at their base levels...

That's what I assumed, but I needed to make sure.

Now, you have two real options. I would suggest simply re-downloading the game, now that I've fixed that (and the other error Void found concerning the sewers). You can also follow the instructions I gave to Void in post #243, but by doing that you wouldn't be able to access the sewers if you wanted to. Either way, it would be best for you to start a new game, so you can gain the levels you missed out on. It's up to you, but I would recomend re-downloading.

Glad to hear you liked it. I'm hoping to get the next episode out withing a week or two, before I start school again. I've only really got one cutscene left to do, but I'm only working on it sporadically, since I've put off all my summer school work until now. :sweat: :(

Fun game XD But I'm having trouble in the cave where the PRMs are... I can do hardly any damage to the monsters, and I keep taking damage for seemingly no reason at all o.O

Also, a few problems I've spotted so far:

When you rescue Joel, Mr. Noob says "How, your over there?", which sounds a bit strange as well as being grammatically incorrect. It should probably be something like "How, when you're over there?". Or something.

Izzo also says that all hell breaks lose, rather that loose.

Aaaaaaand, some of the monsters have invisible spots on them where the background shows through. Not sure if this is intentional.

EDIT: Oh, and sometimes the names of the monsters don't appear, or there's a blank space that you can attack.

Are these both from the most recent download? If so, are you gaining any EXP after battles.
As for the "invisible monster" thing, when i was rearranging the monsters to get the Member List to work, I apparently forgot to change the Monster Groups. Basically, some groups have a powerful invisible enemy acciddently. I thought I had them all fixed in the current edit, but if you're still running into them in it, I'll have to go back and look again.

Duly noted. The last one is sort of intentional, as in I'm too lazy to find a way to fix it. The only on I can think of that it seems affects is BlackKnight VII

I think some grammar errors should stay because a lot of members give grammar mistakes while posting (myself included). It makes the game more realistic.:D

Okay, well I just went through and checked every monster group in the FFI forum and made certain there were no invisible monsters (I think there were around five total :sweat:). I've uploaded the edit, so just download it, transfer over you old save file, and give it a try.

Also, what level are you right now? I'm thinking the monsters you had trouble fighting were the invisible ones I got rid of (they have roughly three times the defense, two times the attack, and no attack animation, which would explain taking damage for apparently no reason), but if you keep having trouble let me know.

BAH! I hate double posting, but this seemed important enough to warrant an update, as it concerns anyone interested in the RPG. Again, I apologize, but there's no other way to get the word out (other then sending a PM to everyone who's posted in the thread, which I frankly don't want to do).

On August 19th, this Saturday, Azar's domain will officially expire. He's been gracious enough to let me host off of his site the entire summer, and I'm extremely grateful to him for this. I'm currently looking at other options, such as hosting off of Aiyon or finding a decent free hosting site, but for the record, expect the links to not work at any time on Saturday. I'm not sure when it will happen, just that it will be sometime that day.

Finally, thank you all for playing the game, offering feedback and advice, and making me feel like it's worth it to go through with this. Hopefully I'll be able to get a bug-free version of the next episode up by tomorrow night, giving you guys a full day to download it before the domain expires. If, by then, I do not have a hosting site, I'll be doing it via e-mail.

Well, I just played this. It was amazing, just like I tought. I think I found 2 Glitches though. Do you want me to PM them to you or edit this post and put them here?

Edit:ok... I found 3 more Glitches.... i'll post them here.

1. When you Free Joal (I think) He asks for food. I found the strange mushroom and he ate it and joined my party. Then the text continues going, saying how they left their last Pizza with Cid. Joal then Joined my party again. strange.....

2. Unknow_Solider is in the member list twice. This may be intential though.

3. In the Room in FFVII with the Red carpet and the door you need the Decoder for you can walk through a wall near the chest in the left area.

4.When I went up the stair to the room with the strange hall that Mr. Noob comments on, I spawned in the wall to the right of the stairs. I was able to walk out though.

5. When fighting the red mage pirates in FF1. their are two blank enimies.

I'm assuming you mean the ones that are curved and "facing" the top of the screen. Those, due to perspective, are supposed to be able to be walked though. Just to be safe, could you snap a screenshot of the place and attach it to your post, so I know exactly what you're talking about.

Yeah, I have this fixed in the next episode/version. Sorry about that, they keep showing up randomly. It happened when I had to rearrange all the enemies for the Member List.

Thanks for the heads up on all of those.

Also, all that stuff I said earlier about hosting, forget. Azar's domain auto-renewed itself, so it's good for another year. Thanks again for allowing me to host off of it Azar. :D

Ok but for this one my first fight agenest Unknow_Soilder (were I got the code) bothe versons got added to the list. Both the one with the sword and the one with the decoder.

In that fight, the one in the middle has the special drop (FFVII Password), the other two have regular drops (Logic Blades).

Hmm, I downloaded the new version of the RPG, and when I jump down the hole in the EoEO forum, the screen just stays black. I can move around and open up the menu, but the screen is just black with the character in the centre. *takes screenshot*

Right now all I'm doing is going through and changing all of the mistakes that have been found in it so far. I'm going to have to ask you guys to either wait until I upload the next episode, or simply not go through those holes. I'm sorry, but that's all I can offer now.

They aren´t banned or anything but i guess if you take a look at the FFVIII forum you´ll understand why they would make good bosses fot that forum...better yet use Lychon also he was banned because of a FFVIII post i think so that would make in the perfect boss Rase!

Anyway, new episode time!

Here (http://sparelimited.com/rase/EoFF%20RPG%20-%20Why%20Noobs%20Can%20Be%20Important.zip) you guys go. It presents one new dungeon for each path (Help kikimm or Help Void) for a total of two different dungeons. That's all I'm saying, you'll have to see the rest for yourself.

As with the last one, this should be virtually bug free, thanks to Psychotic, starseeker, and Maxx Power's beta-testing. However, if you do find errors still, feel free to let me know and I'll address them as soon as possible. :)

EDIT: Okay, my memory sucks. I was supposed to do this too.

Anyway, by request, I'm asking what people think of the current Title song for the RPG. I have attached two other songs I have considered, and you are free to suggest anymore you know of or think would fit. I have the final say, but I will listen to suggestions and consider all ideas.

Trust me, it's not necessary to have all the high end pieces of equipment. The Thread Killer (the sword that costs 9000 GP) not only has 15 more Attack Power than the second strongest sword you can currently get (the Scimitar), but increases the weilders Strength by 4. Weapons provide additional increases your stats will always be more expensive than ones that simply increase your Attack Power. That's why that sword is so expensive. Also, if you bought it as soon as you could (after clearing the FFVII forum), you won't find a stronger weapon for Mr. Noob in the rest of the current download.

Just finished playing the demo pitty i wasn´t able to safe after defeating the last boss...but it was pretty good in general i just encountered a small problem it might be my computers fault but after defeating the last boss the battle image of Mr.Noob remained on the screen...

More or less. I'm aiming for somewhere between 15-20 forums being used in all. The Artist Gallery will be in it, but as a place to view some members art in-game. I'm including bits from Eizon (http://forums.eyesonff.com/forumdisplay.php?f=61) as well. Also, you'll regularly see forums you didn't get to enter destroyed (if you paid attention in the demo, this happened to the FFIII forum), which is to give the sense that you're not alone in fighting Crash, but that others are doing missions like you.

Hehehe. I think this may be a glitch but when I buy items that are 3000 gold it only subtracts 300 gold. Same with the 500 gold items. (becomes 50) hehe ^___^

I don't think it's a glitch...It's just that after you reach 10000 Giga Points, it omits the last digit (It tracks it...just doesn't show it, or at least in the shops.) I noticed it too, and then I realized what it was.

In the current episode, no. You are planned to be in the game at some point, either in a town or in the FFIX dungeon for some reason, most likely as an NPC.

yay! cause I already found another 2 problem!

1. in FFII fourms, when you first enter, their are 2 chests. you can stand from the cliff and open the chests from the side instead of go all the way around.

2. Rase starts with the attack 4-way (lol) but you can still find it in a chest.

can I be a summion? it's fun to see everything go boom on screen at once. if not then I'll settle as an Npc =p

as for the .wavs, i'll send them to you soon enough.

I found a few little problems - sorry if they've already been picked out:

1. In the FFVII Forum, in the first room, there's a box IN the wall. ( http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y161/yuna_elena/ff7forumprob.jpg )
2. Also in the FFVII Forum - Crash says 'Thunday Mani', instead of Thunday Man, unless my eyes deceived me, then I apologise. :D

Okay, so I have done NOTHING in the RPG since I last updated it. Now, before you gather your pitchforks, let me say I have a fairly good reason, three in fact: school, work, and being burned out.

Anyway, with it being my senior year, I figured it'd be a little easier, especially since I have a free period. Oh man was I wrong. Let's just say that, between AP English 12 and Government, I haven't exactly had the free time I had during the summer. Add in three more classes and I'm pretty much a busy man. Then, I work on Saturdays and Mondays, which takes away homework time, which means more homework and later hours to get it done. All of this leads up to number three.

Frankly, about a month ago, I'd hit my limit. I could only create so many events and maps before I just didn't feel like it anymore. It was work, and after nine hours of school (counting time spent getting there and back), I didn't really want to do more work before doing homework. So, with no real motivation to do the RPG and a lot of motivation to chill and play videogames in the time not doing homework, I obviously did the latter.

Now, this doesn't mean that it's stopped. Just two days ago I finally went back and began to work on it again (so I have done more than nothing on it). I don't know when the next episode will be out, since life and school are unpredictable, but let me say it is nice to see that people haven't completely forgot about it. Anyway, that is all. :)

Download the 30day free trial of the legal one at download.com. Rase, don't worry, you can still open your game in the legal one, but most scripts don't work in the illegal version(won't show text). so, use the legal one.
Well, first, if I had done it that way, I would have ended this about five months ago when the trial would have run out. I'm not going to drop $60 on this program, so it's the way I'm doing it now or none at all.
As for scripts, I have no clue what you're talking about, since I've used about six in my game and they all work fine, as does the text. Scripts can be finicky, so maybe you just weren't entering the just right when you tried them (happened to me who knows how many times).

P.S.-My EOFF RPG is still going. check the topic Eoff RPG(Yes, Again), for info.
That's nice, but I would prefer you didn't advertise your game in the thread for mine. You could just use your sig and get the same effect. :)

Oh, *sigh*. scripts that are made in the legal version(which all the best ones are. check my CMS) don't display the scripts text in the illegal version. For instance, if you download a legal CMS, if you load it in the illegal version, then when you open the menu, there will be no text, just icons.

I tried a few different CMS's (Ring Menu, Side Menu, etc.), and never had any problems with it. Both use the RGSS, which is based off of Ruby, a fairly common programming language, so it wouldn't make any sense why any scripts wouldn't work in both. That's probably more of a problem with the font from the Main script. All you'd would need to do is replace it with this and it should work:

It changes the default font from "Tahoma" to "Arial", and is the most common fix if text isn't showing up. You can also change the word "Arial" in the script to any font your computer has and it will use that (Times New Roman, Broadway BT, etc.).

Also, I agree with Jebus' idea of including #eoff in the game, as it is a part of the site. The boss of that place would probably have attacks like kicks, bans, kickbans, mode changing, all sorts.

You aren't in it as of yet, and I've already got the PRM's in and done (i.e. not planning on changing that part). I do, however, like the Chin/Fedorfia idea, and will see if I can get that in. If so, I will probably stick you in there with the Chins.

Well, the "standard fare" stuff will most likely be included: new and/or expanded town, a new dungeon or two, some new equipment for everyone, maybe a dowzen or so new enemies, maybe a new skill for each person, and some new items. Of course, I need to have some surprises. :)

I think I found (another) glitch in the game. I decided to play from the beggining, (please note I am using starseekers download of it) and instead of going to the start when I click New Game I end up on star's last save point.

Yes, unfortunately, this RPG has officially died. I'm very sorry for not going through with it, as I really do hate to leave things half completed. I'm especially sorry to everyone who I told would eventually be in the RPG.

The main reason behind the stopping is basically because, well, remember this:

Is my desire to make it still here? Yes.
Is my free time to make it still here? Not so much.

Just switch the two answers and there you go. I've tried three times to start again and I can never get much farther than a map before I just stop and go do something else. I think the main reason may be that I really enjoy being creative and stuff, and it was getting hard to do that within the EoFF context. I also wasn't to happy with the way things were going in the game, and really didn't want to have to go back and do it again. I really wish I had gone with my idea I did for the decathalon pentathalon (http://forums.eyesonff.com/showthread.php?p=1746610&highlight=Quigoni#post1746610) (letter E), which I of course thought of after I'd started making this. Maybe someday I'll try and do that one, though I'm not making any promises.

Anyway, yeah, that's about it. I'm currently working on another RPG, but lord knows I'm not releasing anything about it until I can get a decent demo up,or just until it's done. I will tell you guys that, should it go through, it'll try and have as few RPG clichés (http://www.project-apollo.net/text/rpg.html) as possible. So yeah, that's that I guess. Since this is done with I've asked a mod to close it now, so if you want to talk to me about it for some reason PM me. Thank you all for playing my game and giving me feedback, ideas, and much more. It was fun while it lasted.
