View Full Version : Our very own EoFF trial

Agent Proto

Alright, Jebus and I are planning to do a trial here on EoFF. However, we haven't decided whether it should be done on the forums or in chat. Anyway, we both need some help so we can pull this off. As for now, we don't have a crime to make a case on if we're going to do a trial, so we need to make it EoFF related.

So far, Jebus and I are committed, where I will be the defense attorney, and Jeebs will be the prosecuter. What we need are the following:

A judge
A defendant
A victim (Will likely be dead for the case)
Several witnesses
The real suspect
A detective
A bailiff
A jury of twelve. (Probable, unless we are going to stick with the PW game and use the Judge's verdict)

If you would like to help, please inform us the best time for us to do this if we're going to do this in #eoff if you have access to chat.

If there's competition (not just "who asks first"), I'll try out and own you all for the judges spot.

I'll be one of the jury peoples. I'll be the insanely unjustified, and cruel racist dude, like jurors 3/10 from Twelve Angry Men. Or the cool one from the ghetto who has found his way out from the hood, like juror 5.

No, they throw them in jail. Which is a bit difficult for a forum, so I improvised. :p

Psychotic

Judges don't throw anybody in jail, you silly. And if you are charged with contempt of court, your trial would not even be with the same judge whose court you were in contempt of.

There, the obvious choice, Raistlin, has no knowledge of the legal system, so now there will be a public outcry if he is chosen. Proto is dismayed, as now he has to choose someone unpredictable. WHAT WILL HE DO?

Rye

We're not talking about defendents being held in contempt. And yes, people held in contempt of court can (and often are) put in jail. :p Unless your freaky British legal system is totally whacked out.

Contempt of court is an offence. What happens in between someone committing an offence and them being thrown in jail? They go on trial. This makes them a defendant. Of course they're put in jail. The judge doesn't throw them in there though. The police officers in attendance do that. :strut:

We should choose the judge how judges are really chosen, ie we get the Queen to choose. Now, I don't mean to brag, but my personal relationship with Her Majesty (I met her once!) means I am head and shoulders above you riff-raff.

You bastard and your semantics. Okay, the judge tells the police officers to throw him in jail.

And since Proto and Jebus are both (I think) American, we should go with someone who knows the much more sane, much better American legal system. :p

Too bad our system is based on the English legal system...
Of course, ours is obviously much better.

British college is from 16-18, instead of the last 2 years of high school that we take. Then they go to Uni which is our college. British college is more of specific studies, like University/American College, except it's not University.

That's got to be the wierdest thing I've ever heard of.
In which case, I retract my original statement.

I guess someone didn't pass remedial English.

Unless "remedial" is a new word over in Europe, like boot is to trunk, or flat to apartment.

It's nothing like the last two years of American high school though, in that it's much more specialised and doesn't have people running around calling themselves "seniors". And it's optional.

Agent Proto
04-20-2006, 01:59 AM
It may not be a chat thing, however, the likelyhood that it will be a chat thing is diminishing since no one posted anything about what time they would be available for chat. :/

Raistlin
04-20-2006, 01:59 AM
Because chat sucks and nobody intelligent goes there, so they have to advertise here.

EDIT: Or that.

Agent Proto
