In one chocograph you find 8 full sets of "tropical" equipment (Straw hat, Sandals etc.). Is there any kind of practical use to these?

They provide the lowest stats in the game, so what's the point? Humour? A secret that's unlocked if your whole party wears it (and possibly does something, or goes somewhere)? Does anyone know, because I don't have the slightest clue.

wow, I didn't even know that this existed.
But it'll all probably end in some irrelvant refernce to something.

The Straw Hat is weak against all eight elements, but other than that the 'tropical' equipment has no effect on your characters or their stats. You don't get anything special for having it or wearing it, but you can sell them if you're running low on gil.

really sheesh, I thought that they'll appear wearing that in battle for laughs, did you say it blocks all elemntal attacks and status effects?

It doesn't block elemental attacks and I don't believe it guards against statuses either.

Yeah, it's pretty retarded. They could've made it like Onion Armour or something, shee. :cat: It doesn't even change your appearance in battle...tsk, tsk.

you can sell them if you're running low on gil.
They don't give much though, do they?

The only tooltip given is "Provides a tropical feeling" or something along those lines. So it's probably only for laughs then, if no one has heard of any secrets regarding them.

The Aloha T-Shirt sells for 9,500 gil.
The Straw Hat sells for 750 gil.
The Pearl Armlet sells for 490 gil.
The Sandals sell for 600 gil.

If I remember correctly you get eight of each, so that's 90,720 gil in total.

Ok, not bad considering they are, to my knowledge, virtually useless ^^
