Nothing can surpass the godly skills Cliff Burton once bestowed upon us, damn public transport, good for nothing!

Steve Harris, Jason Newsted, James Macdonough are also favourites. I like Rob Trujillo though.

A few of my faves have been mentioned, but in addition, I'd say Geddy Lee and Les Claypool...

My bike doesn't suck! ;_;... Mean Venom.

There are alot of bassists that are masters of standard electric too, that's when things get kickass.

Along with the others mentioned, Justin Chancellor from Tool would be one of mine. Anyone that contributes to such a great sound in a godlike band is awesome in my book.

Philip Lipscomb, from Taproot. I don't especially like the band, or his bass playing or anything - he's just so damn cool. They were the opening act for a concert I went to last year, and I was pretty impressed. He's got some crazy stage presence.

No one else really stands out to me in any way.

The lack of Les Claypool in this thread distresses me.

And yes, Micheal "Flea" Balzary. Of course.

Kristoffer Gildenlow, the man can play so much stuff with so much soul. He can do rock, metal, blues, jazz, funk, etc.
