Speed metal isn't acctually that hard to play, but if you like speed metal nuno bettencourt and buckethead are both better than that guy.

Flashy but not the best.

Also, don't they use that first Angelo solo in one of the Burnt Face Man eps?

I have to disagree with ANY of these being the best guitar solo ever.

I'm going to go with the solo near the end of Pain of Salvation's King Of Loss. It is just totally amazing and beautiful.

Mike's problem is the tunes, he needs to show us bigger and badder styles using the guitar to it's fullest, then I will see him as guitar god. That was a cool solo there CH.

Maybe it's just me, but Guitar Solos don't particularly impress me. They have their moments, but I think that they should be more about creating a mood that goes with the music accompanying it, not just who can shred the fastest.

No one said it was about speed, it's about how sweet the solo sounds, solos dont have to be fast.

I would really like metal...if the musicians would just shut up and play! The singing does nothing but take away from the music.

Anyway, I thought this was pretty cool. The music is amateur quality, but the sound effects are very well done

player.

Pfft. SRV could kick Jimmy Page's ass.

That may be true. But Jimmy Page really wasn't known for his fighting ability. He was a kick as guitar player not a fighter.

SRV holds nothing on Jimmy Page, on every list of world greatest guitar players SRV is ussually ranked right above Van Halen around 20th Place. Jimmy Page is always in the top 5 becuase he is god.

You may Like SRV better, but thats just becuase you don't know all of Jimmy Pages work, and you do know most of SRV.

I know them both very well, and nothing SRV has done nothing that can compair to Jimmy Pages "white summer".

Mozart + Betovheen + Jesus + God + bell Bottoms = Jimmy Page.

Most of those stucked. There's a difference in metal and speed metal. Shoving as many notes in as fast as you can just doesn' t sound cool. The Motley Crue was good and the SRV too, though I prefer some of his other songs more. I couldn't get Crushed Hope's solo to work.

did you even watch the video.

and your logic doesn't work. Thomas Edison is famous for inventing electricity....but Nikola Tesla who perfected is almost unknown by most people.

The people to create will always be remembered more than the people who copy.

Like if we made even better pyramids in egypt. The first Pyramids will always be the best.

but you can think what you want, you just can't use that logic to justify it.

Being well known doesn't mean , there are MANY better guitarists than Page and them not being well known doesn't change that.

Daniel Gildenlow is miles ahead of Page in both song writing and technique, and guess what he came years after him.

Toby Driver is miles ahead of near every guitarist in terms of everything, and only started a band a few years back.

Popularity does not equal talent and skill.

I brought up Edison because that was the first example that came to mind. I could have use Mozart, or Bach, or Beethoven, or Nirvana, or Elvis, to prove that your logic doesn't work.

Being the first to do something is called ORIGNALITY, and it’s very important when writing anything weather its music games books.

If there were a guitar rating system it would looks something like this

ORIGNALITY -- Skill -- Speed -- Style -- Complexity -- melody and so on.

Jimmy Page would have a 10 on originality were most guitarists would not......and even though Jimmy Hendrix isn't very good at all he would get a 10 for originality as well.

And when someone says something is the best IMO should be implyed.

Venom

The thing is that you don't know a damn thing about Jimmy Page. All you know is that he played in led zeppelin, and maybe you know of the yard birds too.

He did a lot more than you know of, he did it before anyone else did it, and he is the most respect guitarists out of all guitarists. Argue all you want but when Rolling stones, Guitar pro, Spin, Maxim, and so many others rated the Worlds greatest guitar players jimmy Page was in the top 3 in every magazine.

He played the guitar with a violin bow for god sake, and had Gibson Special make his world famous duel guitar, and most of the effects used by led zeppelin were never used in any other band before them.

And just out of Curiosity do any of you actually play the guitar, because if you don't you would have no clue on what is or isn't difficult.

Out of curiosity, do many of you know/like Gary Moore's stuff? He's a blues guitarist, he doesn't rely on solos as much as he does songs, but I still rate him quite highly, especially after listening to Parisienne Walkways as a kid. Definitely a different style to what people usually think of when they think of great guitarists, though.

Yeah, he played guitar with a violin bow ... and there were a few effects used, but as a whole his playing style was not new or original. Much of his work in Led Zep was pretty much rip offs of those who came before him.

Hendrix is very hard because he used a crazy guitar. A lefthanded guitar with Reversed strings....or something like that, as for SRV I don't like his music so I have never tryed to play it. There are a ton of really good contry guitar players.....But I hate contry so I will never play there music.

Gary Moore is very good because he is so smooth, and alot of the music he plays is just him playing of the top of his head.

Joe Satriani is one of the best modern day guitarist, and he does put on a fantastic show.

Crushed hope you need to chill out and face the fact that you are not right....as I am not right becuase its all an opinion. But you not playing the guitar explains a lot about your opinion.
