Once upon a time I was watching a holiday program. They had a place on there that looked like Kilika. It was a sunny hot place with a clear sea. The houses were also built over the water in huts like Kilika.
I couldn't find a picture of the place but this picture was the closest one I could find. Anybody else seen places that look like the places in FFX?

Zanaraknd always did look a little TOO familiar compared to Ground
Zero. They had the lights and everything, even the awesome music. Good thing there wasn't alot of crying and mourning in FFX...

Cloudy oppressively humid atmosphere, greenery everywhere and bare mounds of dirt riding up on the sides of roads.

(actually it's a mountain, but it still feels the same)

The place you're thinking of is the Maldives Hilton, really nice resort, I'm taking my wife there on our honymoon, might play a bit of ffx and cruise around kilika on the plasma tv they supply too lol

You'll probably find a ton of places in Southeast Asia similar to FFX. It is, after all, what the game's setting was based off of.
