Inspired by the post here (http://forums.eyesonff.com/showthread.php?t=83886).

I'm curious how many here were Uncaste nopt a gee, not a nerd, not a tabletopgamer, not even a gamer (FF don't count for the discussion).

Just Uncaste, the defination I'm directly lifting from the Hindu/Indian caste ssytem.

Same here. Could you maybe clarify your question.

He's asking who didn't have a definitive or stereotypical role or group in high school.

My group of friends was pretty eclectic. Common thing being that we were all on the dance team but "dancer" didn't define us. I don't worry too much about labels though.

You mean people that are generally nothing, right? Just being there, breathing oxygen.

Anyway, I was the average normal guy. You don't get much average than me.

Edit: Colonel Freakytoes beat me to the explanation.

Oh right ... couldnt make sense of it.

Well eh, I was an average normal person also, so were my mates.

Ouch!

As far as I know, I haven't been labeled. I can't think of an exact group that I fit the perameters of. I don't think about it a whole lot.

Eh, I fit into the 'emo' catigory. I can't go five minutes without being called emo. Infact, people don't even call me by my name anymore, now it's just 'emo kid.'

lol, I was called an emo kid in college because I had my hoodie hood up ... it was flipping raining! I dont want my hair wet. Plus I was never emo, I was a mosher so that also annoyed me.

I was in the DIDN'T CARE group. Even at work, my buddy and I are uncaring about the job and a few other things. :)

Aren't the absolute lowest of people, street cleaners etc, outside the caste system? So they would be uncaste?

I think the actual term is "untouchables" for the people who are the lowest of the low in the caste system.

In South Asia's caste system, a Dalit — formerly called untouchable — is a person outside the four castes, and considered below them. Included are leather-workers, scavengers, street handicrafters, poor farmers and laborers.

Yeah, untouchables are outside the caste system.

Why would leather-workers be considered bad? That's an interesting, skilled trade.

Anyways, I was Megan. That's pretty much it.

Because cows are sacred in the Hindu tradition.

It doesn't have to be cow leather, it could be other kinds of leather.

I'm nobody . . . really, I'm to quiet most of the time to have a lable . . . and I like it that way.

Possibly because in Hindu culture, killing animals is a no-no and working with the skin of a dead animal might not be considered a good thing. This is just wild speculation on my part.

Edit: Yamaneko beat me to it.

I don't know what people label me as but I suppose I'm the "lonely emo punk rocker nerd", or something. I hang out with the labeled "punk rockers", I'm a "nerd" because I'm considered a "smart" guy, and I'm that "lonely emo" guy because no one in said group really talks to me frequently, so I'm lonely, because no one really wants to be my close friend and I'm "emo" because I walk without pride with my head down and I always wear a hood when outside....I personally, do not classify myself in any social stereotype clique. I think people should only be themselves, and not classify and alter themselves into a certain persona defined by the entertainment industry.

Me and my friends are classified as the gamers in school. People know us as that so well that once in a while people that don't play many games will come and ask us about games stuff they might want to try and I even had one of my teachers ask me about what system she should buy her kid for christmas.

Yeah, but I don't like the word uncaste. It makes me think of the Untouchables from the Hindu class system. ;___; I don't wanna be an Untouchable.
