I've noticed there's not many characters that are the age they look. Selphie, Zell, Yuffie, Yuna, Rikku, Auron, Cid and Barrett all look like the ages they are given. Characters like Zidane look much older. I remember I refused to believe that Zidane was 16 when I first found out :jess:

To me, Tidus looks pretty much like what his age is.

It might say Tidus is 17, but I don't think he is. Never. His face is that of 15- His voice is that of 12(ish) his body is that of 22+ 19 would be an okay age for him and Yuna.

Why 17? Nearly every character in VIII is 17/18. Why have more?

He looked uber childish to me. I guessed 16 at first too. Then I heard his voice, and he became an 8 year old. Then...I saw how everyone was treating him, and he became a 5 year old :P

Dream Zanarkand is exactly that. a dream. the fayth dreamed up Zanarkand through Sin, thats how Auron was able to meet Tidus. But Tidus existed as a being approximatley 1019 years ago.

He is now what you would call a corporial being; a manifestation of the Fayths' dreams.

Everyone's always bust'n on him, but he's one heckuva character for the main part when you think about it. I'd say he looks in that 17-19 age range. I know tons of 17+ year olds that could not ahve gone through the /xxx.gif/xxx.gif/xxx.gif/xxx.gif he went through. And yes, I know it's just a video game... ^_^

Older actors are more mature and minors can only work so many hours, so its common to cast older actors as younger characters, but I wouldn't say that applies to game voiceovers.

He does everyone say that? He doesnt sound THAT young. I think his voice sounds around 17-ish. A very immature 17 year old, but those are pretty common.
