I've just got a laptop for my birthday and I was all 'yay' about it obviously :D :D :D
Anyway, I tried typing but when I type '@' ' " ' appears instead, I think it's all American or something but I don't know how to change it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. :D :D :D

Have you tried holding down Shift.

lol, yea, because when I press shift and 2 the little @ symbol appears.

Control Panel > Regional and Language options. On the Languages tab, click Details, and add "English (United Kingdom)" to the bottom list, set it as default, and apply. You can remove the US one after applying the UK as default. If you try before applying, it might complain. If it complains, just remove it again, it usually works the second time anyway :p
