Alright since one of FF VIII theme is fate do you believe in fate.
I ever read thread like this in Advent Children forum. I will Quote the question from there.
________________________________________________________________________________________
Do you believe that your life is already pre-destined? Like, someone already made up your life and you're just following along without any free choice?

In my opinion, I don't think our lives are pre-destined. Our lives are like a novel that has to be filled with our own choices and that hasn't been written prior to our birth.

I'm just morbidly curious what anyone else thinks.

Do you belive in Fate? (Fate being that life is already written and you're just playing your role.)

Or don't you?
And there is interesting answer about it:
One fact can actually end the debat :

Theoretically if we could calculate every position of every possiblle atoms in the Universe, we could predict the future.

Extrapolate to Fate and you have your answer.

But feel free to conjecture !

When I was a little kid I hear a song its lyric says :Fate is only a word, feared by the weak.Deluding only the faint hearted.

I believe Fate is something that had happened.

I have to find Fate.I dont wanna waiting for Fate to come to me.I`ll find FATE someday(I mean FATE not MY FATE) I promise.

Welll....it may come down to religion, in a few cases, but most its just personal thought. In my case, however, its religion. In my religion (Christianity) everybody has a purpose. Everybody will be somebody. Everybody has a plan. BUT, we have free will, so we're able to stray from that plan if we sin or do wrong. So, if you lead your livfe absolutley perfect, then you'll be great. BUT, since we're all human, and nobody is perfect, nobody becomes that definition of great. But you can still get close by doing your best. So, who knows. Maybe, Im supposed to be a prophet, a musician, a scientist, or biologist. But, I do know, that I can be anything, by straying. Its not even necessarily bad to stray, its just not what was intended. (If you've seen Dogma, then this next part will make more sense). Angels on the other hand, have a set fate. They dont have free will, so whatever was/is planned to happen to them will. That's what I think on fate.

In my opinion it is merely naive and wishful thinking to think that human beings alone have some sort of special gift which allows them to have freedom from the laws pf physics. The human brain is merely a collection of particles, particles that follow paths which can in theory be predicted (only in theory though), after all.

I don't know about 'fate' though. 'Fate' has connotations with me as some sort of supernatural mysterious force. In reality though, I think it's just physics.

In my opinion theres no such thing as fate. We have to make our own decisions and choices. It frightens to think that a person would lead his/her life thinking that every aspect of their experience in life is down to fate. Then again everybody has their beliefs and im in no position to question them.

I believe in making my own decisions in life. I woud never rely on something like fate to carry me through. Make your own decisions, and stop wondering about fate.

i don't believe in Fate, i think peoples' religious Fates can be changed. holy water, nirvana, psychic surgery and some more ingredients to the mumbo-jumbo soup. i'm on the golden path, but there was a time not to long ago where i myself, was headed for doom. shouldn't this be in EoEO?

i don't believe in fate but i believe in destiny. everyone has a purpose and because God has given us free will we can choose to fulfill our destiny or follow a different path. those are my beliefs and the truth as far as i'm concerned.

I think that it's possible, but changes nothing if it's true--so I act as if my actions are my own, because if I'm wrong, well, it doesn't matter.

Predestination, chaos, or foreordination?

I go with foreordination. It's similar to what DoaJ was speaking of. Each person has a purpose but whether they live up to it is up to them.

People I know who believe in fate use it as an excuse to do whatever they want or to or to not do anything at all to change something they don't like. "It's not my fault. There's nothing I can do." Excuses, nothing more.

As for chaos... we'll that's entirely up to the individual. If they believe in themselves enough to take charge of their life then good for them.

No. Because if there is fate, then our society comes crashing down around us. I believe people are responsible for there actions.

Im like Neo from the Matrix, I make my own destiny, no one else does. So do I believe in fate? No.

I don't see how thinking the concept of fate is stupid is at all relevant when determining whether or not its real. What if we treated physics the same way? "Theory of relativity? Sounds stupid to me, so forget it!"? Doesn't quite work out =P

Now, I perfectly agree that we must act as if there is no 'fate', but scientifically speaking, I would say 'fate' is pretty probable all things considered.

Fate is exist you dont need to know how?why?when?
I just hope later someone in the future reworked theory of relativity.
There's something missing in that theory.
