hi all, i'm running ff7 on windowsXP, i've installed the XPpatch and also the chocobo patch. I'm currently up to where i have to stop the train before it annihilate north corel so i can get ultima without paying. So here's where the trouble starts:

1. got on the train and began alternating the lever to get catch up to the train
2. jumped on the train and froliced to the train engine
3. i can't get the train to stop. I did what was said by pushing the buttons to raise and drop the left and right lever together, which is Numpad8 & + (Menu) to raise both, and Numpad2 & 0 (Cancel) to drop.
4. been mashing whole 5 minutes and nothing happened. I've played the psp version to and i remember when you do the combination right like (up & T) your other party member will cheer you on or panic that the train is going faster.

Any clue??
Thanks all =D

That's the mystery. I have both PC and PS FF7 and I never ever was able to stop that damn train on PC version, but it works just fine on PS version of the game.
Not that much of help, but I got and idea it's a bug which came to PC version and never was actualy fixed. I might be wrong though, I played it more times on PS than PC.

I think there is a bug whereby if you are using non-default controls on the PC version, it reverts back to defaults for some small sections, including disc changes. Possibly this is what is happening here?

I tried it there now on my copy, works fine for me with my own controls, and with a joypad configured. Are you sure you're pressing the right buttons :p?
